Thinking Harrison will play outside LB as both GP inside LBs are comming back. Who knows. He also will be a reciever at 6'3" and possibly a RB also. Hes got so big since last year as everyone has put in the work this offseason. Davis changea season to season to compliment what tallent he has. GP returns a heck of a running back in Batts and Gholsby gave some offenses fits at the end position. Lots of holes to fill but lots returning. Davis should have the right players filling in and ready. GP is stacked. Lots of play makers on both sides coming back… if even 5 of the 22 are playmakers… and the 17 others are at least decent… you’ve got yourself a deep playoff run. This should be a helluva year for our boys. Nice to finally be able to start talking about football again. Imagine posts without name calling or demeaning comments about another person's opinions.

GP will have 10 new faces playing football this year. Dont know any of these new faces comming to fill these holes. Last year GP got better every single game. That should hopefully roll over to this year. GP had 3 sophmores playing last year, Harrison both Linebackers. FB had a good game in the dome against GP, Props to them. Not sure if GP will be good at the start of the season with alot of new faces. Davis should have things figured out from spring ball. I didnt get to see any of that. I know alot of hard hitting and some kids got hurt.

I'd say that is probably better than average for 5a and 6a teams so quit with the sandbagging BS already

Almost all the Oline and secondary isnt sandbagging.

The GP/FB game could be a barn burner, but I think GP has the upper hand this season.

Football season is quickly approaching. Yes it is. How is Mercedes looking? Any updates on kids tranfers or workout milestones?

If you think that GP has more talent than FB, you might want to look at the recruiting of FB players and their performances at Camps and Linemen Challenges. Just sayin'... You just stick to your D1 opted up watered down 15 5A D1. Good luck with your Non-District.

Still think GP wins the DC. Should be a helluva game. Let's hope both stay healthy this year. Maybe there'll another rematch in the Dome!!!

And don't give up. things could be very promising for the Tigers in 2023 and 24. Yup They've been competitive the last 10 years with teams from north of the RGV for the most part but have not won many of those games. Here is how Mercedes has faired against teams the last 10 years outside of the RGV. Overall their record in that time is 73-36 but only 3-10 in the playoffs. Opponent | W - L | Alice | 0-2 | Boerne Champion | 0-1 | Calallen | 0-8 | Laredo Cigarroa | 2-0 | Floresville | 1-0 | Flour Bluff | 0-1 | Rouse | 0-1 | SA Southside | 0-1 |

I am curious to see the sophomore season for Davis. They always talk about the biggest improvements come between year 1 and year 2 with most programs. The way they improved from week to week makes me think that not many teams are going to want to see the red, white, and blue wildcats lining up across from them this season. I anticipate barn burners vs Cal and FB. Much like the old days when all 3 were dang good teams. It's a testament to Davis that the kids bought in as fast as they did. Reminds me of Calallen with Danaher honestly. Davis is definitely a championship caliber coach, and I see many in his future at GP. Not necessarily state titles, but I can see them making the finals at least.

It was nice to see the culture change in such a short time. Alot of kids are complaining about the workouts now. Thats a good thing cause what doesnt break you makes you tougher. GP was good in the 70, 80, and 90's cause of the work ethic the coaches imposed on the players. Hope all goes well in 2022 version of the Wildcats.
