The NICHE report is kind of what you go by if you are new to the area and just moving in. The CYBER bullies are more interested in killing the messenger than they are getting to the truth. GP is a good example of money not buying the best education. The London school rankings do not surprise me and the Aransas schools is a surprise.

Because it is public knowledge and has to be by law Then why do I need to show everyone? If they want to know, they can do some research and find out for themselves, exactly as I did. You acted like you knew exactly how much she was going to be making and so that is why I asked when I didn't see it in the link you posted. Hell, with all the millions GP has at their disposal I would think matching their salary offer would be change in their pockets but I guess not.

FB has been exemplary many years that I know of. Do you recall how many years now they have been receiving that top honor? TM used to receive it, but haven't since 2003. I'm not sure how long. No doubt they all in the profession do their best. Damning any by faint praise hacks me off. Most do but not all. There are some that go into it for other reasons than the of teaching the kids. Some just like extended time off with a decent salary and benefits that they will not get at other jobs. And those that are like that truly piss off the majority that do give it their all because like in most other lines of work the good ones end up having to try and pick up their slack while making the same pay the slackers make.

The website is free to use for students and parents. The company makes money from advertising and charging schools to upgrade their profiles on their site.Apr 29, 2020 In other words for sale bs something you should be familiar with. TEA: Districts with A ratings include Banquete ISD, Bishop ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, London ISD, Sinton ISD, and Port Aransas ISD.

That’s really not realistic due the size difference in both school districts. The last report I read stated GP ISD currently has 5400 students while the Arlington ISD has 55,000 student's. I wish her well in Arlington.

bluecat I think in one of the news articles they mention GP with 5000 and Arlington with 60000. That was probably an estimate. DR. Cavazos wrote her thesis for her PHD on HS Principals changing jobs every 4 or 5 years. I can’t remember how many pages it was but look how many times Super Steve Vanmatre changes jobs. He came to Sinton and ran off the older teachers and replaced them with younger and cheaper paid teachers. He got a $800,000 grant and applied for a wind turbine grant to build a wind Turbine near the HS. Fortunately he was beat by the citizens . He used one a city this side of Port Lavaca had put up for example that was shut down because of high maintenance cost. Once you get grant money in your pocket you can do what ever you want with it. He got grants about everywhere he went. Dr. Cavazos May have felt there was not much left to do at GP and took on a new challenge.

I’ve had some discussions with board members the last couple years about every subject you could think of regarding GP ISD. Supts and principles all go to conferences every year and it was no secret that Dr Cavasos is well known across the state. The board members told me they didn’t think she would at GP for many more years. They knew there was some big school districts who were impressed by her. They knew it was just a matter of time before some big ISD”s would want to talk to her. As I stated earlier that she had Dr Leslie Faught at her side for a couple years and I’m sure she learned quite a bit from Dr Cavasos during her time at GP. We will find out soon enough who will provide leadership at GP.

Chino, those plans that I mentioned came directly from a member of the GP ISD planning committee. What you believe or your opinion is about what GP ISD doing or planning for our kids and athletes is totally up to GP taxpayers. There are many factors such as inflation (high), interest rates on loans(getting higher), the Robin Hood revenue sharing policy in Texas, and added tax revenue from heavy industry has created a opportunity to build new schools, build a very nice technology center that has given many of our student a great start in careers such as welding, process technology, nursing and culinary arts. These types of venues do not just happen on their own. Much planning has gone on in the past few years so GP can do great things for our students and much of this has happened because GP ISD has partnered with local industry so the school can provide them with well trained individuals to hire into their industries. Both the welding technology( doubled in number of booths) and process technology has grown very fast and is a great success for our kids. I’m very proud of what GP has done for our kids here in GP and I believe GP will continue to do what they can for our students. I'm not taking a shot at G-P and saying they aren't trying to do great things. I'm saying adding 25 more rows is nonsense. It would more than double your home side which is already a very good size. It makes no sense. Cochino I can only tell you what I was told by members of the board an members of the planning committee. I’m sure you realize school districts cannot plan in the short term they must use every resource available to plan both short and long term. At present the GP ISD has been blessed with a windfall of added tax revenue and the district has been using those tax dollars building all new schools and many more projects at GP. Also currently the revenue sharing Robin Hood law is been the Texas legistrature being modified. What that means for GP is more of those tax dollars stay at GP to wisely use it for our schools. And Dr Cavasos stated if we got it we will use it. Another thing at present is the partnership that GP ISD and local industry has developed . It’s a success for our students and athletes who will soon workout and play on those projects baseball and softball and the indoor facility. The last few years have been good for GP but everyone knows those windfalls will not last forever. That is why the school district has been so aggressive to get the new projects and facilities built before the eventual slowdown occurs. Hopefully that explains to a certain degree as why GP plans on growth for the future.
