I woke up about 12:15 AM and was looking over the GP situation and picking out which coaches I predict will not be there in 2022. I see at least 6 will be gone. Not all are football. There has been at least one conflict between a retread administrator and a new coach. That Administrator has a new assistant from outside GP now to replace that Coach so he can take his new job within the school. The retread union is losing members.

Some folks just don’t like change especially if it effects them. What Davis has done since he started his program at is exposed the old entrenched system as a really poor way to run a athletic system. I expect there will be more position coaches getting demoted or replaced. Davis now has more time to look at every sport and decide if there needs to make changes.

Boerne last year was an awesome pick up last minute to replace Los Fresnos. I liked when we played El Campo in seasons prior. Wouldn't mind a good 6a also. GP should be good coming out of the gate in 22'so a tradition rich program shouldn't be that brutal for a preseason game.

What changed are you all wanting change at. We had a team that went to the regional finals. I didn’t see a position group that played poorly. The team got better and better as the year went on.

I’ll leave that to Davis, I think others might be having concerns with sports other than football. I personally think the core group of football did a great job this year. Hopefully with the infusion of aggressive talented coaches that Davis brought in, woke up some the coaches that stayed on at GP. I do know that many of them really liked the higher intensity workouts and how they emphasized hard work to get better. The boys believe in these coaches and truly want to do what it takes to get to a high level of play.

The change I want to see is greater desire to be better next year than this year. I watched a lot of players In the playoffs that were just like the players in this area in size but had greater desire to be better. They were motivated and had a winning attitude Coach Brent Davis did pretty well with the talent he had. Flour Bluff did pretty good but was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I made some games up north and you don’t face the size of players in D2 that are in D1. I saw Rouse get beat 2 years in a row and am surprised that Coach Josh Mann did not win with the talent he has and the coaching back ground and experience he has.
Change I would make is tell the Middle school coach to give me 8 linebackers out of the middle school. I would tell the Freshnan coach the same thing. I would tell the JV coach the same thing. I would be ready to rotate fresh LB in the game and have a 4-4-3 defense.
Change I would make is as AD I would be at every basketball,Softball ,Golf, Hard ball and every coach would be under my microscope. I would Persue winning in golf just as hard as I would football.

Superlatives/MVPs, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & Honorable Mention? I usually only see 4 levels; MVP’s, 1st, 2nd, & HM!

This is not All District. It is Caller Times Newspaper 2021 All South Texas Football Team which includes Refugio, Sinton, Odem. It even has WR Hector Garza of San Diego, TX first team along with 5A and 4A teams. I just hand picked the GP players to put on the GP thread.

These sounds great but is it realistic for the AD to be at every event. Also are you sure playing with a single high safety in todays generation is good. Your leaving those Corners on an Island quite a bit.
