Jumping ahead on this one, Navarro is hell on wheels. I wouldn't put money on this one Navarro enrollment just under 1000, the snapshot put them into div 2 4a. Refugio 190 enrollment div 1 2a, I hope the passing attack will be something Navarro hasn't experienced.

Navarro's slot T is ran to perfection. They can pass too. Bobcats need to control the line of scrimmage and eliminate the big play.

Same offense that Refugio could not stop then and will not stop now. Its going to be two talented ballclubs hammering it out.

Yes, but you are football smart and know good and well when you lose your stud on offense it allows the opponent to 'key in', shut you down, and get your offense off the field and wear your defense down to NOTHING.
See 2015 Katy vs Steele for a prime example of this!

Navarro is in a no win situation IMO. They should beat a team 2 classifications below them soundly. If they don't or they lose outright it won't look good. Refugio is in the exact opposite position.

I agree..........but don't see Refugio keeping this very close. Navarro is legit and playing well right now. But, they were last year to and we all saw what happened to them in the playoffs.

Historically Refugio just seems to have trouble with slot T offenses and the Navarro and East Bernard run it to perfection. Additionally offenses like Navarro tend to slow down the tempo of the game. Refugio is a more uptempo offense, and Navarros offense will keep the Refugio offenses number of possessions to a minimum.Couple that Navarro offense with its very good defense and they will control this game. Thats not even adding into account the depth of the teams 4A vs 2A. Herring most likely bit off a lil more than he can chew this time.

I think karma bit East Bernard. Refugio beat East Bernard the last time they played. East Bernard were the defending champs and number 1 and Refugio beat them in 2013. Also I agree that running teams have been Refugio's Achilles heel in the past but Refugio is playing really good defense this year. No team has gained over 100 yards total offense against them yet. I still think Navarro will win because they are playing really well. I think about 35-14.
Agree that Herring can come off as a jerk but lots of football coaches can come off that way especially when they are very successful. Not saying it is right but a lot of teams would love the success the man has had.

I'd pass on the success this man has had when it comes with what I've personally seen him do a few years ago in the playoffs against Lexington. I did however personally enjoy the extra large a$$ kicking EB handed them in San Marcos......enjoyed every second of it. you see the difference is that EB called off the dogs in the 4th quarter when the game was in hand when they could've easily scored more on the Bobcats and didn't leave starters in and call two timeouts and run reverses on their last drive at the end of the game to run it up! There is a difference but the fans at Refugio don't seem to realize it for what it is anymore because they are so used to what he does. When two old men (fans for Refugio) start saying crap like "now it's time to run it up on them" once they started to pull away and others chimed in......I saw and heard all I needed to on this man and team that night at Heroes to make me LESS than a fan of Herring.
