Anyone willing to give me a heads up on what to expect from Georgetown? I'd imagine they have good pitching but what about their hitting? Are they a small ball team that bunts kids in scoring position or do they just hit? Do they try and steal bases frequently? Is their # 1 a righty or lefty? How do you beat this team? Defiantly don't underestimate them. They will be in the game, and make sure y'all have more than two pitchers! A one-two punch is a great thing to have but it's the jab that will get you. You only need one pitcher to beat Georgetown. Don't throw anything good to raguse or janca. Raguse is the real deal at hitting. Janca is maybe just as good but can be contained. Other than those two, Play sound baseball and yall should be fine. Honestly their kind of overrated. Nothing special at all. Cal just lost that series plain n simple

Would love to see Cal dig down into the bullpen and go 3-4 pitchers deep. They do seem to ride 1-2 guys all year. GTown took losses in season but did prep more pitchers and it counted.

Would love to see Cal dig down into the bullpen and go 3-4 pitchers deep. They do seem to ride 1-2 guys all year. GTown took losses in season but did prep more pitchers and it counted. GT did not allow their pitchers to pitch more than 90 pitches per game through most of their season. It didn't matter if they were up by 9 runs or down by 9 runs, at the point their starters got to the mid 80's, they pulled them and put in relief. Those relief pitchers had the experience needed to come in when it counted in the playoffs and pretty much play unintimidated. They built their team to get to this point in late May and June and it worked. It was no secret around here that everyone was worried about game three scenarios and that was at any point in the playoffs because we did not have a third arm who was fresh and ready to go. Why we don't take the balance of the schedule once we clinched district or a playoff spot for that matter and work other arms is the money question? If you lose those games, who cares? Really do Aledo, Georgetown and Tomball care about their double digits in the loss column as of today? Did they care about them last week? Or the week before? No, no, and no.
