Prosper ISD approved the sites for high schools 2 and 3 this spring. One site is in the north and the other is on the west, but they haven't designated which will be used first.

Whoa, it won't have Cypress in the name?! It's the 3rd one in the district to not after Jersey Village and Langham Creek. It is the 1st to only have 1 word in the title. I do agree that Bridgeland Creek sounds better, makes more sense, and fits the naming procedures used in the past.

The names are so generic now. By the name alone you never know where a school is located. What kind of name is Lake Creek? It's like naming a school Oak Elm... Creek and Ridge are like every other name.

It's a nation wide politically correct thing. A lot of schools are changing their names, especially any schools named after Confederate Generals i.e. LEE.

Town names are fine for a school (that way people know where they are), but Lake Creek sounds like a subdivision that they couldn't think of a name for... Trees, water tributary's and rock formations seem to make up 90% of school names nowadays. Lovejoy was named 100 years ago because it pulled kids from multiple towns. And yes you are correct it is named after someone. The High School is frequently called Lucas Lovejoy because that's were the high school is located, but it is Fairview, not Lucas, that had the neighborhoods that changed the path of the school district. Lucas is catching up with nice neighborhoods, but it began in Fairview. I don't even mind Nevada Community (Community after the multiple towns). But all these schools sound like street names. Lovejoy has an intermediate named after Sloan Creek and a middle school named Willow Springs. Both are named after real landmarks, and both names are intentionally generic. They named one of the Elementary schools after a former superintendent and the name is HORRIBLE. There was a big parent fuss over the naming, but it stuck.

Well Lake Creek was an actual settlement, and I don't think there are any subdivisions over there. But I do agree that a lot of places make a name like that sound more generic than they really are.

There is no town of Aldine or Spring Branch, but those are names of ISDs. Then you have Spring ISD and Spring Branch ISD...
