It'd be tough with 6 HS using 1 Stadium. I am for a 2nd stadium. Maybe not with the price tag they are carrying, but they definitely need 2. That should hold them over for several more years. I agree that two stadiums for 6 schools is ideal. Over in San Antonio’s Northside ISD, they have a whopping 11 high schools (with a 12th in construction) and only two stadiums for them all. I don’t know how their doing it!

This was the first election where athletic faculty bond requests had to be listed as a separate line item. Politically it plays well because yea some ISDs have gone a tad overboard in this regard. But I have to wonder how long it will stay that way? Sooner or later some of these suburban schools are going to get restless and put pressure on some of these same Legislators to redo this. Especially if the growth demands in. Either they will do it where the language is modified or the ISDs will do what some colleges do to get the state or university systems to pay for athletic facilities since technically they can’t be funded directly by the legislature. In other words, they might start attaching classrooms or some sort of learning center to a facility so it can be classified as an education building to satisfy ballot language. This is what colleges are doing to get gymnasiums built as they will designate it the health and kinesiology learning center and get state funds vs raising private money.

I don’t know how their doing it! LCISD’s bond planning committee had very little choices to make - they were essentially handed what the ISD was going to do. Perhaps LCISD will decide that a stadium is essential and will actually build something with a reasonable cost. A $10M-20M stadium might not keep up with the Jones’s, but it would suffice for what they need.

It’s not state of the art, but it’s practical and still nice.

Unfortunately, Allen and Frisco have set a standard that less-fortunate districts are trying to replicate.

But a simple, easy to maintain and Upgrade stadium is the best Bet IMO. Spend the extra money on Bathrooms, Concession Stands and Press boxes. A well thought out layout with plenty of parking that's easy to get into and out of makes for a better fan experience. And the more non Parent rears you put in the seats the more money you can make for your athletic department. I like seeing them in close with the Baseball and Softball fields as well. Then shared parking make things a lot more affordable.

The thing I don't get is many times and pre Covid I watch highlights of games at some of these stadiums that have been recently built to keep up with the Jones and they are not even close to being filled to capacity. They might be at half. The ISD's that get penalized the most are the ones in the middle when it comes to trying to update their facilities. The wealthy ISD's have the tax base. The less wealthy (Robin Hood ) like some in the RGV float the bonds for construction of facilities and because of language in state law, they get the state to pay for a good chunk of their bond balances.

Floresville has this and they probably have more restroom stalls than a Buc-ees. Or maybe close to it!

Frisco partnered with the Cowboys and the City of Frisco and built the Star, however, the Star doesn't seat a lot. I've never watched a game in Aledo, but it seems like a nice stadium. Forney and Royse City both have pretty nice stadiums that more than meet their needs. Problem with waiting now is the prices are going up year over year.

Yes if I recall these newer stadiums have to have certain code compliances for certain number of restroom stalls depending on the seating capacity. When New Braunfels did its stadium update a few years ago, the number of extra restroom stalls required now brings a smile to your face. I think the restrooms have around 50+ stalls on the home side for each woman’s and men’s.

Looks like New Braunfels new high school will be named Long Creek High School. The school board voted this Monday. They will start with a ninth grade center, then adding a grade a year until full. Looks like they will be in UIL football in 2026. School colors and mascot will come in the next few years.

Like the name's uniqueness, but not the name itself. I liked Legend Point a lot.

In 2023, zoning will take place and LCHS will officially become the 2nd HS with 9-10th, adding a grade in each subsequent year.

According to Texas ISD webpage, Frisco ISD's 12th high school will be named Panther Creek High School. This should not be confused with 6-man power Panther Creek from Coleman County.
