According to Texas ISD webpage, Frisco ISD's 12th high school will be named Panther Creek High School. This should not be confused with 6-man power Panther Creek from Coleman County. Yep. Watched the school board meeting. It was unanimous with no questions or complaints. Looked like nobody on the board really cared what the name was.

Thank you. I've been waiting on that one. Like the name's uniqueness, but not the name itself. I liked Legend Point a lot. The way I interpret it, is that Long Creek HS will serve as NBISD's freshmen campus for 2021 and 2022. In 2023, zoning will take place and LCHS will officially become the 2nd HS with 9-10th, adding a grade in each subsequent year. I believe “the split” starts in 2023 as well. And I am not looking forward to it. I feel like it will dilute the talent and smaller campuses are offer less options than larger ones. Half of surveyed community members wanted larger campuses. I’m not sure why they went this route. And while the uniqueness of the name is great, I also think it’s not a good name. There were better options and it almost feels like the school board picked the worst options and had the community give feedback on those. Oh well, at least it wasn’t the horrid New Braunfels East option. But other options that were shot down were Riverdale, Ridgemont, East Oak, Edwards or Lake Dunlap High School. I underestimated how unoriginal people are.

Those school names sound like a new teen drama series on the CW network. "Next week on Ridgemont, Cody dumps Kim for Melissa and Coach Thomas tries to figure a game plan for East Oaks HS star QB Travis Spartan and save his marriage in the process." Set your DVR for 7 pm.

Midland ISD’s bond initially looked to pass by 11 votes. Then more ballots came in and it lost by 25 votes. After a recount, the bond passed by 12 votes, but 820 ballots have disappeared from the initial count. Looks like the bond will pass...? If it is official, Midland HS and Lee HS will both open new 9-12th campuses, with the current Lee campus becoming HS #3. The current MHS campus will be repurposed into an academy and a MS, while the 9th-grade centers will become middle schools. Schools would start opening around 2023 and the capacity would be 2400 for each. www.cbs7.com/content/news/Recount-shows-that-Midland-ISD-school-bond-actually-passed-565375331.htmlWhat ever actually happened with this. It was always confusing to me. Does this mean there will be a new high school in Midland?

I am for a 2nd stadium. Maybe not with the price tag they are carrying, but they definitely need 2. That should hold them over for several more years. I agree that two stadiums for 6 schools is ideal. Over in San Antonio’s Northside ISD, they have a whopping 11 high schools (with a 12th in construction) and only two stadiums for them all. I don’t know how their doing it! They will start work on HS #13 a few years after SA Sotomayor is established in a new bond most likely. I think then they will have to make a 3rd stadium. 12 will be too much already.

Already sent two schools to play football in another district wonder what’s next?

With 12 schools now, are they expecting to open up any more? Seems insane the amount of schools they keep opening.

Once Sotomayor joins 6A, I think the next school to get pushed over will be Holmes, or all together split the district in half. I don’t know. There will be 4 new schools opening in the SA area by 2023. Already opened SA Davenport in Comal, and SA Pieper opens in 2021, SA Sotomayor in 2022, and New Braunfels Long Creek in 2023. Pieper, Sotomayor have the best chance at being in 6A soon after they open.

I’m also putting money on the Northside HS #13 being named Ginsburg.

It was always confusing to me. Does this mean there will be a new high school in Midland? After the recount, the bond failed by just a handful of votes. I'd imagine it will be brought up again in a year or two. Opening a 3rd HS at the Lee campus would've fit in perfectly with the renaming of Lee. Could've simply had Midland HS, East HS, and West HS.

With 12 schools now, are they expecting to open up any more? Seems insane the amount of schools they keep opening. There will be 1-2 more. Land for #13 is in the former Brinkmann Ranch (a huge, undeveloped rectangle in the center of the eastern portion of the city that is now being sold off), so that campus will be needed next. It's going to be close on whether or not they'll need #14, but if so, it will be on the west side.
