Don't they have the lowest taxes in Collin County? If so, I fail to see how their residents need tax relief in comparison to all their neighbors... Yes, but property values are only going up thanks to the DNT corridor. I'm not comparing because everyone in that part of the county needs relief. I get your point now. It wasn't about the ISD (M&O or I&S) taxes going up, it was overall property evaluations skyrocketing. Thanks for the clarification. I see your point and my taxes are skyrocketing compared to when I bought 10+ years ago.

I've had my house a year and it's already jumped up quite a bit.

Prosper ISD's FAQ says they will need a new HS every 2 years beginning with Rock Hill HS in 2020 IF the growth continues.
"What is the timing of future schools? ES#10 and #11 will open in August of 2019 along with MS#3 and HS#2 in 2020 along with ES#12 and likely ES#13. IF growth continues at this pace, we will need to open a new high school every two years beginning in 2020 and a new middle school every two years beginning in 2019 with elementary schools bunched in there as well."

I moved Katy HS #9 to open in 2020 rather than 2021. Not sure if they have changed or I was a year off.

This one isn't pinned anymore? Is there a reason, or will it be re-pinned in the off-season?

I thought that New Braunfels-Canyon was High School #2?

I thought that New Braunfels-Canyon was High School #2? No, there are 2 districts: NBISD and Comal ISD. Comal ISD has Canyon, Smithson Valley, Canyon Lake, and 2 more on the way. NBISD just added a 9th grade center recently (instead of a 2nd HS they were considering), so it is strange to hear they are planning on HS #2 now. Both districts are being slammed by growth.

After reading more into it, I have it figured out. And looking back, Clemensbuff had explained it in this thread before but it never clicked. New Braunfels MS opened in 2012 with a core capacity of 2500 and a setup that is easily expandable. The old NBMS became the 9th grade center. If the bond passes, NBISD will build a new NBMS with 1500 capacity set to open in 2021, and the old NMBS will become the new 9th grade center. The current 9th grade center will be demolished and an ES built in its place. From there, the 9th grade center can officially become HS #2 in 2022 (if necessary) by adding 10th graders and splitting up 9th grade. One thing of note is that NBISD originally had a build-out high school population of 4500, but now is expected to have 6200. There was hesitance at the start of the bond planning process to transition the current NBMS to HS #2 because the core capacity isn't big enough. But it appears that has been ignored and they are still going to roll with the plan. Lastly, NBISD is waiting until there is a high school population of 3000 to split its schools so that each school can maintain the same number of clubs and programs. It could be 2022, or be pushed back. I'm expecting that a bond would need to be passed to expand that campus. www.nbisd.org/page/bond.2018_faqcommunityimpact.com/austin/new-braunfels/editors-pick/2018/01/22/local-school-districts-prepare-rapid-growth/

Wasn't there some talk a while back of a new school in Edinburg CISD?
