You don't see any Gorillas or Scorpions either and both of those seem like 2 cool mascots. Gorillas are so strong. That would be a very cool mascot, but, sadly, it's obvious why it isn't very common. FW South Hills has Scorpions as the mascot and I was just thinking about how cool that is a few days ago. I still like the Itasca Wampus Cats

A little early for mascot prospects, but with a name like Eagle Mountain HS, there are only a few logical choices: -Eagles -Mountaineers -Miners -Oilers (due to fracking in the area) -Drillers (see above) -Roughnecks (see above) -Earthquakes (see above) -Lakers (due to proximity to Eagle Mountain Lake) Considering the other mascots in the district are Pioneers, Rangers, and Rough Riders, I'd go with Oilers.

Frisco is having a meeting tonight to discuss new schools. HS #11 is set to open in 2022. Location could be in McKinney at the far southeast corner of the district, near Centennial in the south central part of the district, or in the northwest corner of the district.

Have you heard any outcome of the meetings Frisco ISD were holding to discuss decreasing the number of high schools and letting the schools bump up to 6A? The survey results were overwhelmingly supportive of staying with the 5A model. So no sticking with 10 schools or converting to the 5 HS/5 SHS model. Looks like they have land for 3 more HS, and projected build out has them at 12-14 total HS campuses.

"That's a bold strategy cotton, let's see if it pays of for 'em"... I believe it must be two separate votes. One vote to decrease the Bond (which had a time limit and was going to expire) and another ballot item to increase the M&O (Maintenance & Operations). If the bond decrease passes and the TRE fails, again, they could be in deeper trouble. Or both could fail and the existing bond expires and the TRE doesn't pass. Neither scenario will be pretty. If you have a choice between 3 things, and 2 are bad then you aren't in a good place.

If you have a choice between 3 things, and 2 are bad then you aren't in a good place. My interpretation is that there will be two propositions: 1 for the TRE and 1 for the bond. So the TRE proposition is increasing M&O and simultaneously decreasing I&S - known as a "swap and drop." And then, the bond proposition is asking taxpayers to approve selling bonds for new schools. I don't believe the I&S rate is set to expire, so FISD will be fine either way. However, FISD residents badly need tax relief, so this will be passed if the board puts it on the ballot.

Don't they have the lowest taxes in Collin County? If so, I fail to see how their residents need tax relief in comparison to all their neighbors...

I'm not comparing because everyone in that part of the county needs relief.
