Prosper ISD has 2 HS sites. Looks like the southern one will be the location of HS #2. It's in Frisco in the former Collin community, so here is hoping for Collin HS. On that note, the other site is in the area of the former Parvin community, so hopefully we get Parvin HS as #3.

Comal ISD is moving forward with the bond to add 2 new HS and design a "school of choice." The 1500-capacity school would open in 2020 in the Garden Ridge area, relieving Canyon HS. The 2500-capacity school would open in 2021 be located in the Kinder Ranch area, relieving Smithson Valley HS. It was passed by the board 6-1, with the dissenter wanting HS #4 to not be in the Garden Ridge area. www.comalisd.org/pages/Comal_ISD/News/Comal_ISD_Board_of_Trustees_Ap

New Tech HS has its own principal and is treated as its own, but is not a comprehensive HS with its own sports teams. Once the new HS is built, New Tech will continue to have these ties, with its students counting against Belton HS's numbers. I just thought of it, but that sounds like an easy way to legally recruit kids to Belton HS sports teams.

If New Tech and Belton High actually got along with each other that'd probably happen, but neither campus likes each other. The coaches also treat the new tech kids like 2nd class citizens, so they try to discourage them from being on the sports teams.

Might actually be better for the kids to be like WF Hirschi and have its own sports teams. I can understand why they don't do that though.

According to the news report I saw the other day, they are considering limited sports programs for New Tech. The report didn't say which ones they were considering, but in all honesty the majority of the kids at New Tech are not the typical athlete. They do have several that like soccer and some basketball kids, but maybe only 2 or 3 that are really into football and baseball. If they would start counting them separately, they could easily be a 4A school and Belton High could be either a large 5A or smaller 6A. They have close to 800 kids now on the New Tech campus. Last year a little over 200 kids graduated from New Tech. They could declare it a magnate school and that way they wouldn't have to change boundaries and such.

That would be a good way to get Belton and HS #2 to both be 5A. However, being a full magnet school, New Tech would have to be 5A and appeal to drop down. Would work pretty well if that school didn't offer football.

Princeton may go up this round, but when do you think that Melissa will go up to 5A (or add another school).
