Tuloso Midway Middle School started off the 2014 season with a bang against CCISD. I hope these boys continue to play together on the grid iron but I'm pretty sure a large group of them will go all baseball when they get to high school. We'll see.

Congrats to those boys...keep working hard and playing 2 sports in high school isn't a bad plan to have since I think you need a little break from them. My son did it and several of his old buddies from select baseball did it and they are all glad they did now that high school is over.

Even some coaches encourage it. The break that is.

The problem will not be with baseball. The problem will be keeping them at TM once they get to high school. TM has for years had strong Middle school programs but once they get to high school the parents take their kids down the road or elsewhere in the area. NOT BECAUSE OF RECRUITING!!! Because parents do not have faith in the high school TM athletic program. I hope the parents keep the boys in TM... Good luck young warriors!!

Maybe things will turn around a bit. This school year we have had 6 students transfer from one of those NON RECRUTING schools in the area to TM.

The issue with that, is most of those transfers are not good athletes they typically transfer for academic extra curricular events... There have been some good ones to transfer to TM from other schools though... Especially in the early 90's... Brent Alford was probably the most high profile of those. Several of the kids I knew at Cal transferred to TM before we graduated most during freshman and sophomore years... I am glad I transferred to TM from Cal because I had great coaching at Cal, then Talbert made me become better because I hated him so much I wanted to be a better athlete to spite him and he was the reason I became a coach cause I wanted to coach against him to kick his tail!!! Anyway back to topic, I hope those transfers are good athletes!

Five play with my youngest son and are still playing there now the other one is in HS and plays with my oldest. I just hope they can keep up with the TM academics when they get to high school so they can play Warrior Baseball.

I'm glad Jeremy Brittain stayed and played at T-M. His Dad and Bobby are best friends though so there was some heavy influence. I remember he was always the best in his age group at Oil Belt. During all stars, Jeremy hit a home run and I happened to be by the outfield so I retrieved the ball for Roger. In the next game, I was coaching and my son hit a HR and Roger returned the favor...bad knee and all. I almost got kicked out several times during that tournament...Art PO'd me bad that tournament! Randy Lowrance settled me down though...I probably owe him still. I rode Art's a$$ all through HS baseball! The only worse ump I've seen was a female ump at the C5 freshman tournament when my son was a frosh. She umped the championship game of all games for us against John Paul II...horrible is all I can say. We won the game and tournament, but were in amazement that she was even allowed on the field.

Pico, you're not saying this is the beginning of a Coup d'état are you? And You don't think I would be involved in anything like that at TM now would you? I can think of another one or two in that same age group.....

My first question is "what auto dealer are you all working with?" No, seriously you all are on the right track! The investments are paying off and you are right about the Fields of Dream quote! 100% on the mark.
