I thought this might be an interesting topic... With some, or maybe most of us being former (or even current) football players, I figure we've hit the weightroom a time or two in our lives. So how strong are you? Let's use bench max as the measure.
Me... I've recently started hitting the weights pretty hard over the past year... I'm now 37 and the strongest I've ever been. I'm doing 3 sets of 6 at 250... And I'd estimate my one rep max is right around 300.

Its been along time. Couldn't get close now a days. Back in the day, my max was 375 bench, 245 clean, 425 squat, 275 incline, 4.7 40. 6'2'' 225. I was a horrible at squat, I got long legs.

Not very anymore! LOL
Actually, I hadn't lifted in over 15 years and told my son to put 45s and 35s on the bar the other night. I did it 3 times pretty easy except my shoulder didn't feel right at all and I stopped. I tore it up pretty bad about 15 years ago lifting and it's never been the same. If not for that, I think I could still get 250 up fairly easily.
Most I ever did:
BP 320 SQ 515 or 525?? Cant remember..too old! (could have done more but weight killed my back & shoulders) Incline 280 Decline 345 PC 290 Curl 180 (this was last set of workout) Never maxxed out on curl
By the way, I spent very little time in the weight room but an azz load of time in the hay fields as a kid!

My son has simular numbers now. He is pretty strong. I never lifted weights when I was a kid, but I spent many a day in the hayfield, and the feed room. humping 100lb sacks of horsefeed. I used to carry 2 at a time! Probably kill me now to lift one. I wonder how some of the weight room warriors would do out in a hayfield??? Stickers, ants, bugs, the occasional snake all baled together!

When I was a student at LSU, I worked at the LSU Dairy farm. We got in alfalfa hay every year, by the 18 wheeler truckload. had to stack it in a barn. Sometimnes 2 trucks a day. It was very green, but dry hay, we used to get 15# boogers!
