Yeah I miss ol' eppy... There was one time I thought one of the parents was going to end Hafley... His son became a 4 year starter for A&M and he was a big ol' country boy, and Hafley did something at practice to belittle his son... They had a private meeting soon after.... Yeah birdville has been the highest paying district for teachers for years now... So spend some on a real coach.... They have a nice stadium and all too They had Rigsby at Richland in the '60s who was great and is still in the record books I am sure for 5A but that must have been a mistake. That was back when Richland was the "new" school. Haltom was Birdville then changed their name to Haltom when Richland was built but now they have a third HS as you know and named it, what else, Birdville. No, I just don't know why they don't hire great coaches. It's kind of like Flour Bluff was in that all they need is to have someone teach them HOW to play the game. Yeah same thing Danaher did at Cal, Soza has done everywhere he's been, and hopefully Boone will do at TM... If bluff would have had y'all's coach now back in the early 90's they would have been a power back then cause y'all had some studs then too but no coaching... I was friends with y'all's running back last name blackmon, fast and powerful built a lot like Bisby is actually...

I don't think any of Davis's staff was still here.Certainly not his main guys. So the Crane's left Davis? Davis is still at Central. Kodi went to Groesbeck. Kevin is still with Davis making head coaching money. Those 2 guys are gonna get to that college level soon I bet. I remember talking to Davis about them and he told me , no question the best he has worked with. The Soza haters wanted to get Kevin back down here a couple years ago, cuz of his Offensive mind..But they have shut up since the program is on track.. [/quote] To quote an old coyote, "Soza is a good coach, Davis is a great coach." Has the district been enriched since Henry Herrera left?

Being that I am on the outside, I hear different stories from different people. Some people are never going to be happy and talk bad about who ever the super is. While others feel that the district is stronger than ever. Graduation rates are all time high, discipline isn't as bad as it used to be, and parents are getting more involved, etc. But the thing is...all it takes is one parent who doesn't get their way, get on facebook as say "the school district sucks!" and it takes off like wildfire. I have family in the school district, I know my family's friends in the school district, I have friends who teach in the school district, I have friends kids in the school district and everyone has a positive outlook. Like I said, there are just some people who will never be happy and usually, they are the most vocal. I mean, its far from perfect, but perfection doesn't exist. I think to myself, I wish it was like it was when I was a kid. But the truth is, THE WORLD isn't like it was when we were kids. Sorry for my rant, but believe me...I could go on.

I just read that Beltran isn't the new basketball coach. Was he reassigned or was he just flat out let go? And who took over for Atterberry in Softball?

But none of them were on the board. That school district was run from the Athletic Director's office. But Henry as complacent as you may think he was, is still better than what they've had the last 4 years. That was the question, "has the district gotten better?" The obvious answer is NO. No coach in South Texas would want to see Brent and Kevin come back down here. Whatley no doubt know's more football than anyone has ever seen round these parts. Brent Davis is a great coach.

You couldnt gameplan against Alice because Whatley ran out of new and multiple offenses from week to week.

He resigned. Ya'll need to go get the real scoop on that story. And it is nothing negative towards George Beltran.

Henry wanted to please every side of every issue. But in the end he did what his bosses wanted him to do.... As does almost ever Sup does. I will agree yes Whatley had a say in alot... Beltran didnt have anything coming up the pipeline. Baez and he argued alot last season I heard.
