Had a physical therapist for my ankle who would put me though pain until it stopped hurting. Endorphins are great They are also highly addictive. That is why I ran every day until my knees could not take the pounding anymore. It was my daily "fix". If I did not get to run I felt grouchy. People around me like guys in the Navy that worked for me would even notice and say, would you please go run and come back. LOL

It's not that hard to run 13 miles. I'm not saying to go out and try it tomorrow. You have to slowly build up your endurance and mileage. I never thought I'd be running 10, 15+ miles, but I've built up to that level. Last October for the fun of it, I ran twice around White Rock Lake in Dallas. That is 18 miles. Wow. There is a memory from my youth. Is there still a dairy there? I used to run White Rock Lake all the time when I lived in Dallas. I don't remember a Dairy unless I just never noticed it lol

Wish that were true for me, but 13 miles is an eternity for this 46 year old fat man. I will admit the miles come easier now that I have dropped some weight. The strange part is that the first 3 miles just seem to take forever, but after that I really get into a groove and actually feel really good. I'm the same way.....I start out slow. My friend and I ran the Cowtown 1/2 marathon in FW a couple years ago. He always starts out fast, and I always take about 3 miles to warm up....after that I'm on fire. Anyway, I lost him pretty quickly and caught up to him at Mile 11. Those last 2.1 miles were fun b/c we pretty much raced each other to the finish line like mad men....I beat him by 8 seconds.
