x_xThe only thing I will say is they play by different rule in the RGV. When they pitch the ball to the center and he gets to run with the ball it's not right, running with ball maker and play book in one hand and ball in other hand........guess the teams from other then RGV did not get the rule change.
Y'all read the rule and tell me what you think.........no big deal it's done and the real game will start in just over a month.

A player from Laredo said the officiating was bad. Anyhow, Edcouch-Elsa and Sharyland made it to state. Could have been United in Edcouch's spot but play got to the players' heads.

Sounds like a lot of excuses on here, calallen went 0-3 in pool play shotgun, and we know the rules down here, Rgv teams are no strangers to playing 7on7 and Sqt's, remember 4 of them went to you alls tournament in callalen and dominated. Unless you all play by diff rules ร s well.... And Laredo fan, I think the refs were pretty smart to kick out united and mission for fighting, there's no room for that stuff. And don't be surprised if they are not allowed to participate in any 7on7 sqts next yr either for this incident. Edcouch did catch a lucky break in their pool since united and mission were disqualified, they had to just win 1 game to advance, but they did put a beat down on alice in that game. Sharyland had already made the semis in corpus but lost in a close one so I'm not surprised they ended up qualifying in this tourney. All and all 5 Rgv teams will be competing at the 7on7 state tourney this yr, great job and representation by the Rgv. Even better that the start of the real season is just around the corner as well.

Calallen did not have their full squad from what I understand, so that should be noted. Away from that, reading the RGV forum about 7-7 is entertaining to say the least. Some fans get the concept that while it's good work and better than the kids sitting around and playing X-Box all summer and then showing up to the two a days out of shape, others tend to think it gives them a preview of what is to come in the fall when 11 on 11 is in full swing.

I agree 7on7 is just glorified flag football. At Tivy we dont even enter SQT's, the kids just play area teams for fun. We dont have any coaches or plays and our kids wear old mesh jersey's with no numbers. Our coach said that he just happy the kids show up and play. I have seen some really good looking 7on7 teams that really stink when you put the pads on. It's good for keeping the kids out of trouble during the summer.
