That score looks about right. I think PLC can score as much as they want on East and grind the clock in doing so. East should be able to score some, so I feel more like PLC 54 East 20. Should be a fairly comfortable W to close out back-to-back undefeated district championships!

I am glad Calhoun had to play Victoria West first, which gave the Sandcrabs more time to evaluate and prepare for the player shifts that have noticeably improved the Victoria East team.
Any high school team that has a player in the backfield with breakaway speed can change the game around in a hurry, and it seems as if VE has at least two, if Deondric Lofton is still playing.
Last year, in 2011, if I remember correctly, VE's regular quarterback was not playing for some reason and so running back Jonathan Garner acted as quarterback. However, all he did was keep the ball himself or hand it off to one running back. Calhoun stopped that approach and won by a big score.
One question is whether Jonathan Ortega plays as a versatile quarterback or whether he has been playing in the more limited way that Garner was last year. (I think Garner is the VE player of last year I am thinking of; it was the one who played QB against Calhoun in 2011).
Calhoun's defense this year has been defending against the pass better than last year. It will need to defend well against rushing by VE. Unless VE comes out with a completely new look on defense loaded against the run and daring Calhoun to pass, the Sandcrabs should score points, and enough to win if their defense does not get flustered.
