East beating west ,was not a suprisr It was to me...West had been putting up big numbers and getting some quality wins, where as East had not. Agreed, this was a big suprise. But finding Ortega or finally figuring out his ability is the difference. Everyone is correct in their opinion of the East defense right now. But their offense is night and day different since Ortega. I cant see East stopping Calhoun's veer. But East can now play some offense too. I remember all those anti-Roland Gonzalez people out there. I told ya'll then and I'll tell ya now. Watch out for East. The guy can coach.

idk about that... finally moving the best athlete to qb and letting him make plays when things break down...i don't know if i would exactly call that coaching..I would say the jury is still out.

Of course, because we all know better. We are a better judge of character, ability, talent and all other factors that might go in to the decision of placing a 16 year old kid where he belongs in the line-up. For the season it has been the Defense that booted VE out of ball games early. Against Beeville it wasn't all break downs it was a lot of great throws and good catches and runs that. The bottom line is this: everyone knew preseason it was going to be PLC, Cal, and GP and then a battle for 4th. To all prognosticators: TM is the surprise, Beeville - beaten by both Victoria's is out but could also keep TM out, and West and East still in it. East is going to be a very good team, when they get settled in. West I think will also be a team to reckon with next year.

I agree completely. With all the young talent that both East & West have, they both will be very good the next 2-3 seasons.

You are correct, sir. I recall reading before the season started where a few posters made comments that we might not even make the playoffs. Of course, PLC faithful were quietly optimistic knowing what we had coming up but still had to prove they could put it together and do it on the field which they have admirably done.

I think the poster was referring to knowing PLC would be one of the top 3 in the district this year in the pre-season, not so much that PLC would be as strong as they are. That said, the Crabs have it going well and if I"m understanding it right all the underclassmen teams are doing well each year which is a great sign that PLC will be reloading more than rebuilding. Success breeds success and makes the kids hungry for more!!

I don't think anyone could have fathomed that PLC would be rated as high as #7 in the state.

There were a couple of us saying that TM would be better with the reasoning that Boone would teach those guys some football.

I cannot see anyone up here in the SA area that can stop em this year. I really like their chances of playing for the R4 title this year if they can keep playing good D like they've been doing. Tivy seems to really be getting it going in district play but I'm just not so sure how good that district is after Champion gave up so many points and yards to Marble Falls this year! Heck, that same MFs team is has taken it on the chin in district play from Cedar Park, Rouse, Vandegrift, & Vista Ridge since that 62 point outburst against Champion. I just cannot see anyone outside of Tivy capable of giving PLC much trouble in the SA area. District 25 up North has some real tough teams in it though!
