I think we're a year removed from a good run due to the inexperience on offense and slow development there. Contrary to the last two years, this offense has not improved as much as it should have. FB would be favored with an experienced QB at the helm and a D good enough to prevent us from keeping up. Won't say that if the matchup occurs we can't win, but it would be tough. If Calallen is the Div II 2 and the brackets are the same as before, FB and Cal could have a rematch in round two. FB and Calhoun could not meet until the region four finals.

This rematch will happen unless FB loses to Mercedes. Or if Calallen loses to either Medina Valley or Floresville. Both Calallen and FB will be heavy favorites. Brackets are the same. Don't think they've changed since the 4 team playoff system started.

The looking ahead is for us old guys. Whit keeps the kid looking at 1 week at a time. I would like to see it just because we would have 2 Coastal Bend teams battling in Reg FInals.

But like posted above there is a whole lotta football to be played before that could happen against some very good teams.

Our defense finally knows what it feels like to being on the field too much. The time of possession was probably VE 36:00 to PLC 12:00. We had 5 TD drives 5 plays or less. 1 TD was a 1 play drive and 2 TD's were 2 play drives. Defense was short handed to begin with and we had 2 others go out hurt in the game. We limped through it and the offense carried us again. We'll just see if we can get healed up and fix some to the holes. #24 is to get an MRI Monday to see the extent of his injury. He's the one that started for injured MLB and got hurt on first drive of game.
