Smith just tweeted that his sense is that the UIL may rule that E-E forfeits its non-district games but allow its district wins to stand. No ruling yet.

Ruling is in.
Edcouch-Elsa forfeits its three non-district games, but district wins allowed to stand and E-E eligible for the playoffs.
Solis is banned from coaching activities for the rest of the season and slapped with three years' probation.
Big news.

Mercedes would draw FB.

I think thats probably the most reasonable ruling possible. Doesn't punish the kids, Coach gets hand slapped.

E-E will be division II most likely. Here are the current standings and district enrollment numbers:
TEAM District Enrollment Remaining Games 1. mission , 5-0 2084 PSJA Southwest, Mercedes 2. E-E 4-1 1357 PSJA Valley View, Rio Grande City 3. Mercedes 4-1 1487 Roma, Mission 4. Roma 2-3 1815 Mercedes, PSJA Valley View 5. Mission Vets 2-3 1902 Rio Grande City, PSJA Southwest
mission undefeated and is in as D1 top school. regardless is they lose they will go D1, E-E will go as D2 and Mercedes D2.
E-E is the smallest school heading into the playoffs. with their only loss to mission, and upcoming games against valley view and rio grande city , both have a combined 3-7 district record should be wins.
Mercedes has roma and mission. they should beat roma, if not then they pretty much finishing 3rd. if they do and beat mission and e-e wins out, then three way tie for 1st and then they go on point differentials.
as for the fourth place team, id like to see roma, but they still have mercedes this week. Mission vets has rio grande city and psja southwest, 2 games that they should win and take 4th place slot.
all being said, most likely scenario is: Division 1 - (1)Mission,(4) Mission Vets and Division 2 - (2) Edcouch-Elsa, (3) Mercedes.
The district executive committee has always handed E-E harsh penalties for football, but it is understood since E-E did win like 6-7 DC in a row. Glad the kids were spared the games and coach punished for rest of school year. It was the logical choice and one that does not sit well with coach solis. There must have been enough evidence for the state to impose these forfeits and suspending coach solis.

A very fair ruling. I feel good for the E-E football players. As for the coach, he needs to be terminated by the E-E ISD.

Good for the kids. The school system needs to be flushed of politics and bad administration. They have had too many close calls with football and non athletic related bending of rules, etc. Someday the the state will say no mas. Sort of like I think Robstown's leash is getting much shorter by the day and one day we might wake up with Robstown being merged with TM, Calallen, or Bishop. See Premont although they are making a good effort to fix their mess.
