Thanks for coming to the game this after SCBuffKnight. It was great seeing you again. I know my wife was excited to see you again. She again told me you were a great kid in class and one of her favorites. Well, we won but the scoreless streak is no mo! Legacy (one of East Centrals middle schools) got a great 50+/- run against us with 2 1/2 minutes to play. The final was 46-6. Man, that was wierd putting a 6 after the dash! LOL The boys were a little pissed about giving up that TD, especially the 1st teamers that were out of the game when it happened. I talked to a couple and told them to get over it because it was long overdue and was bound to happen sooner or later. Proud of our kids for sure and now in 10 total games in 7th & 8th grade they have outscored the teams 396-6 Always a pleasure to hang out at the game. I'm not surprised as on the last day of school that year she told me that I was the best student she ever had (at the time). Couldn't believe that the D gave up a point, I'm still in disbelief this morning LOL. But it's nothing to be ashamed of. Talk about a hell of a team indeed. We all knew they had to give it up sometime, but great game otherwise. Again, nice to talk to you again. Man the boy is tall, gonna be as tall as you someday!

It actually didn't surprise me all that much in that I'm surprised it didn't happen last year as our coaches start subbing in the games as soon as we have a 3 TD lead and that happened very early in some of the games last year. I know the boys were a bit upset over it but I'm not in the least as it was bound to happen. I think it is very safe to say that score would not have happened if we'd have had just our two starting safeties in the game as fast as they are, much less the entire starting D. So, good for that young man that scored, his team, and their fans. I know it made them very proud and that's what this game is truly all about!!!!!

Game three last night was against Heritage MS (East Central) Our boys won 50-0 and dominated the game. Score could have been much, much worse but coach limited the better RBs carries and also subbed early and often on D allowing them to get a couple 1st downs here and there. My boy played an 'OK' game but had a little trouble drive blocking due to a really sore achilles he injured in practice this week. 1st team D & O were completely dominant again.
Our backup FB and LB is a girl named Camille and she had a couple of really nice runs last night and tackles. She came within about 1/2 yard of her first TD on A team. She is not your 'average' young lady that tries to play football I will tell you that. She is about 5'5" and 135-140 and tough! She will lay a lick on you given the chance! She's a great kid and a cute young lady and the boys have really come to respect her ability as have all the fans. She gets the other team's attention in a damn hurry I'll tell you that!

Congrats about the W. Not surprised about how great they did again. Hope the boy gets better though. Yeah she looked purty good for a girl. Like to see how she does in HS 'cause that'll be interesting to see for sure.

LOL.....He was pissed....not because I missed his game but because I was down in the brush country guiding a hunt! LOL Well, like I said I missed my first game of his last Thursday and I felt pretty guilty. They won 28-0. From the reports I received they were very dominant defensively once again but the offense was a bit sluggish. So far this year they've outscored their four opponents 158 - 6.

It's OK, my dad misses most of my games with all the work he has, but I don't care as my mom always makes it. Anyways how was the hunt like? Yeah from what I heard from SC, FoS, and the newbie on the 5a boards, it sounded like a (less than for Dobie standards) dominant performance by the Wonder Cougars of Dobie Jr. High. Love the results. Also how many pancake blocks have your boy made so far?

Great buck for sure and even more so with a bow & arrow! We killed a 5'9" rattlesnake as well that I skinned out. It had 14 buttons. He's had a few good pancakes but he mostly locks up on his guy and drive blocks him. He is still a little 'light in the arse' if you know what I mean! LOL He is pretty strong but not heavy enough yet at about 158 or so.

Congrats on the continued wins. Thanks 2016! Dobie is very, very dominant this year in both 7th and 8th grade football. The combined record for A & B teams is 15-0-1. The lone tie was by the 8th grade B team in a shortened game. The two A teams have outscored thier opponents in the 8 games 316-8 and when you throw in the two B teams it is 534-36 in the 16 games! This group of 7th and 8th graders is very, very special. This group has a chance to be very, very special from 2014-2017 season for sure if the kids put the work in.

I'm sure they'll continue to excell and one of the few positives I can cite about football in Cibolo is the ambition and drive of the players to be as good as they can be. It's great to have two programs in the same community, one established already and the other on their way in the next year or two. This type of atmosphere fosters a love and passion for the game we cherish. I'm glad your son and the kids at Dobie, some of whom will be headed to SC no doubt, are doing so well. We've got a lot to look forward to over the next few years indeed!

It is my understanding that all the 7th grade and 8th grade players at Dobie are slated to go to Steele. A few off our 7th grade team that were affected by the redrawn borders moved on over to Corbett this season instead of waiting until their freshman year to move to SC. Unfortunately the Corbett 8th grade A team continues to struggle. Corbett's stats through 4 games this year look like this: 8th grade A teamRecord 1-3 Points for 90 Points against 92 8th grade B teamRecod 3-1 Points for 60 Points against 20 7th grade A teamRecord 3-1 Points for 88 Points against 48 7th grade B teamRecord 1-3 Points for 32 Points against 30

Kiddo's team moved to 5-0 with a win over Spring Branch MS (Smithson Valley feeder). It was our closest game ever at 22-0. We had six kids out due to being dinged up including our #1 RB and 4 defensive starters, actually 5 because that RB is a starter at either LB or CB. We were a bit sloppy on offense and didn't finish 3 drives where we got inside their 15 or so and came away with 0 points. Penalties, bad plays on our part, and some good ones on the opponents part were the cause.
Good win though and our defense played lights out once again.

By starting RB, you mean T. Lumpkin?? What happened? I know he plays rec ball as well, I saw him a few weeks ago before I left out. Wish him a speedy recovery. Damn shame about Corbett's football teams record, from my understanding the coaching over there isn't up to par and that's a shame as it doubles the work the HS has to do by not providing a sound foundation. I just re-read the 8th grade A teams record... Wow. It was my understanding that that team in particular was supposedly talent heavy. I got that from a parent... Should've put my hip waders on I guess. Man, just hope Coach J starts demanding for knowledgeable coaches at that level instead of stipend grabbers. Oh well, when they get to SC they're in for a rude awakening.
