Cedar Park is the team to beat in the state. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Denton Guyer vs. Cedar Park D1 title game. I think Guyer looks armed and dangerous this season.

The magazine has got it on most predictions, but I'm not sure why they didn't predict Clemens in the playoffs! Here is my 27-4A picks
1. Tivy (D2) 2. Heights (D1) 3. Clemens (D1) 4. Champion (D2) 5. Buda Hays 6. Kyle Lehman 7. Seguin 8. Lockhart
Tivy and Heights are locks, regardless of new coaches, SC will finally takes control in district play, and Champion beats out the Hays schools for the final playoff spot.

Cedar Park is the team to beat in the state. CP, Leander, and Denton Guyer should be 3 of the top 5 or 6 4a teams in the state I think. I think if Guyer stays healthy they will make the big show and play the winner of Leander/CP in the final. I hope that I'm wrong and that a D1 team from down here steps up and has a Hell of a year and does it, but right now I think those two have to be R4 favorites in D1.

I like your prediction of the district. In fact, I look for SC to come on strong under the new leadership and compete for the district title. I just cannot see Tivy staying as strong as they've been without Smith there this year. Maybe so, but I just don't see it. The same goes for AH.

Cedar Park is the team to beat in the state. I don't think so, but they'll still be good. There will be stronger teams this year in D1, and Leander might have something to say about that, as well.

KT and AH were successful because of the coaching and the kids that bought into their systems and worked hard to make it work. Neither have a huge abundance of talent year in and year out, so it might take a little time before they're back on track. That said, I don't think they'll slip all that much, but don't expect miracles, either.

While there won't be a runaway in the district, it's going to be one of the competitive races we'll see in years. I agree about the coaching changes. It's amazing what a coach could and could do to a program!

I know that Calallen doesnt have 11 returning on Offense. QB is going stricly baseball and RB graduated, not sure of lineman and recievers. 11 sounds better so we will just keep the huge expectations lofty and root them on to state.

Cal will have problems replacing Price and will have to sustain longer drives for scores this year. Breaking in a new QB is always tough. Danaher consistently develops his talent though so Calallen should always be the team to beat. I would say Cal brings back 5.5 on offense as they had lots of younger kids get quality time starting due to injuries...including McCurley if they play him at QB: They lose: Brearton Aguilar Woods Storm Price Dorsey
