From the grapevine - flip will be tomorrow at 12:45...and SV most likely will want a one game playoff - so Chapman will have to win the flip for 2 out of 3 correct if I'm wrong the last one gamer was RAY we won 1-0 on a walk off HR, what is calallen record in 1 game series? 12:45 can get here any sooner, Chappy been pretty good with the flips, I take home and Friday 7pm, better yet Saturday at 7pm

"CHICKENS" One and all. LMAO This got me to thinking, so why doesn't the UIL make it one way or the other..................3 game series ONLY or 1 game ONLY just like with football and basketball! IMO, it should be just like all other sports in that you play one for all the marbles! You either bring it or take your azz home no different then football or basketball. There have been plenty of great teams in football and basketball that have had one bad day and went home earlier then they should have.....so why not baseball? Why is there a different set of rules here?

Be a complete team to go the distance and not get lucky on just one day.

There have been plenty of great teams in football and basketball that have had one bad day and went home earlier then they should have.....so why not baseball? Why is there a different set of rules here? In baseball, a single pitcher can win a state championship for a team. They can be a terrible team that only scores one or two runs a game. But with one very dominant pitcher, its possible for the team to win it all. That makes it much less of a team sport, which baseball is intended to be. Baseball championships are won in series at all levels (even Texas HS - you have to win two games back-to-back). A single-game playoff makes no sense unless you rely on a single player and have no confidence in your team.

Never been a fan of the 4 team making the play-offs in any sport.

Never been a fan of the 4 team making the play-offs in any sport. I agree with the two teams. One argument against the two out of three in state would be pitching depth. Some schools are blessed to have it and some are not, even among the usual powers. We've seen it where a team rides the arms of two kids and indeed make it to the final and win. If you have a two out of three championship game, you better have at least five good arms on your pitching rotation or potential game two or three in the championship could get ugly beacause that will be your third or fourth game in the tourney thanks to the semi final one gamer. How about a double elimination type format between the final four as an alternative to a best of three in the title game? The argument could be made for the semi losers just as well for getting a second crack at it as would a loser in the championship series in a best of three.

"And if we end up winning and play Moody, Corky wants a one-gamer too! " Seriously? ? Oh, the irony.... I have other reasons I really don't want to play Moody an no it's not because we can't beat them again. 1) If CCISD is charge of the operations at Whataburger Field which means standing outside the ballpark in the heat for a couple of hours among the droves of fair weather Moody fans who will show up. 2) The grackle who always manages to sit above the Calallen side in a suite who loves to scream at the top of her lungs.
