I would gladly put any of the CB's best teams against any of the best prep teams in the country, and feel absolutely confident in victory. I really hope Carroll gives them hell at this tourney. It won't just benefit them, but I feel it will benefit every team in the CB. It's like when little JPII goes to arizona and hangs up 11 on a nationally ranked team. I love stuff like that. Anyway, here is a little write up from BA that I thought was good. www.baseballamerica.com/today/high-school/high-heat/2012/2613172.html

You can't bet against Shirly Temple's or Tori Spelling's high school out of Cali!

How do you think Carroll will fare in this tournament? Will they win all their games, more than half, less than half, or lose them all. The last full game I watched Carroll play was their dismal performance against Lubbock at the state tournament last year. That was a very lopsided game that was lost during warm ups. I'm not sold on this team at this level until they wipe out my memory of that game.

They came in very unispired, like they had their tickets punched for the Saturday game, Yea, if they stuck around, those tickets were for the seats in the stadium, not the dugout. I'm curious to see what the records are for the teams in tourney so far this year. They list the 2011 record, but that says nothing to what they've shown to date. Some of those teams from the Northeast and other cold climates could be a seasoned better this year thanks to the very warm winter which would allow them to get more time outdoors? Generally, the teams from the cold climates are behind in quality of play thanks to the limits brought on by the weather. For example, how many times do you see a team from the Big 10, Big East or the northern division of the ACC make big waves in the College World Series? I think Carrol can probably take out those teams from New Yawk, etc. The warm weather schools will be the challenge. The folks at Whataburger Field need to look at something like this for the Coastal Bend during Spring Break. Put three or four South Texas' best on the field and invite the best down here. One week long of baseball, and I'd be there all week.

I know I missed a good one, but family comes first, especially when you have a young one still playing on the LL circuit. My oldest will soon be on the high school circuit and I would love him to get the opportunity to play in something like this if it presented itself.

STFF...we had an El Camino at Waldron and SPID waiting on you, but you still didn't come! Those are our parade vehicles by the way...an El Camino with lawn chairs in the back.

Lawn chairs or milk crates? Either or old lobster traps that someone confiscated on a boat visiting from Florida. Pallets would good as well.

Very true...I miss those LL coaching days or the pop warner coaching days. I bought a hand held TV so I could watch the Horns while coaching. I had a QB who would come over to the side and grab the TV while I was calling a play. He was a big longhorn and a great QB for me. He quit football to play baseball only and is one of the 3 sophs on Carroll's varsity. Since Cantu won't be coming back next year, I wonder if he gets back into football to play QB. My son was my middle LB and FB...never played QB until he came to the Bluff in 7th grade. It is nice when they are in high school though and you get to see them play and enjoy your favorite high school team all at the same time.
