I have just been told that these are only the kids that were on the playoff roster last year. The ones being moved up from JV to Varsity next year are not on this roster list. The big additions, IMO, will be the lineman we'll be getting. Brian T and others. Brian has got big and strong he will be a junior next year i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l530/saltydog6/4f0ce6aa57c32_image.jpg

PLC has a good group of kids this year but the 2 guys I would watch for are: I'll tell you one thing Dan, for him being a freshman last year and watching him play at the end of the year, that Taylor Lee kid really impressed me. Small in size but big on heart. That kid has no fear. Let him grow a bit more and bulk him up some and he will definitely be one to watch... I agree. Taylor Lee will be one to watch, also. He still needs to put some weight on, though. He can play any position on the field. He played DL and LB against Kerrville last year. The kid is fearless, that's for sure. IMO, though, we may have to wait till 2013 to see him much. A lot of people think the well has dried up in PLC, but that is not the case. There is still a lot of quality ball players here and Taylor, as good as he is, may be stuck on JV or getting just spot playing time. I do see him as a good alternative at QB or SB if the need be. It's good to have a kid his size play like a kid 50 lbs heavier. You can play him anywhere!

PLC has a good group of kids this year but the 2 guys I would watch for are: 1) Jakorious(Corey) Williams - He will be a Junior. Size and Weight have been beat to death, but I've talked to a few that are close to him and they tell me he is 6'0" 215 lbs. Discuss it, like it or hate it, but it is what it is. IMO, he would be recruited as a SS or LB, but he will more than likely be playing FB or SB next year. He will get also get plenty of time in at LB and SS, though. A stud player that is on several D1's watch list. 2) Trey Robinson - He will be a senior. 5'10" 190 lbs. This guy has a real mean streak and if he keeps his head in it could pull out an offer or 2. He has SS written all over him. But, I could see him getting starting FB job if JW goes to SB. I have two Wild Cards: 1) Taquan Miles. 5'8" 180 lbs. He may have been one of the fastest kids in CHS football the last few years until his injury last year. If he comes back 100%, he would more than likely get one of the SB positions. If not, he will do very well at CB. 2) Marcus Klamm. 5'10" 185 lbs. LB. This will be his 3rd year starting and he will be one of the leaders on defense. He's not the fastest guy out there but gets to the ball in a hurry. Calhoun Roster(not complete as we will be starting some Sophomore OL/DL guys that for some reason aren't on here yet: - Almarez-Rodriguez, Victor SR 56 Arriaga, Ryan 5-8 235 SR 14 Boerm, Hunter 6-2 195 JR 6 Cantu, Devian 5-5 145 SR 70 Castaneda, Steven 5-9 240 SR 61 Chavana, Jonathan 5-4 225 SR 71 Cumpian, Jimmy 5-7 270 SR 7 Duenez, Carlos 5-9 145 SR 28 Gonzales, Jimmy 5-7 140 SR 60 Gonzalez, Albert 5-9 245 SR 88 Herrera, Eric 5-10 205 SR 34 Klamm, Marcus 5-10 185 SR 10 Lee, Taylor 5-9 160 SO 72 Mendez, James 6-1 300 SR 38 Miles, Taquan 5-8 180 SR 40 Ortiz, Drew 5-8 170 SR 77 Perez, Jimmy 5-10 275 SR 15 Robinson, Trey 5-10 185 SR 84 Rodriguez, Victor 5-6 135 SR 35 Snider, Dustin 5-8 175 SR 62 Tynes, Sean 5-10 245 SR 22 Williams, Jakorious 6-1 210 JR 89 Youngblood, Geoffrey 6-0 190 SR PLC has some good size for sure. Not a lot of height, but some big old stout boys! J Williams sounds like a player for sure to watch with that size as a Jr. I'd say he has the size to play either LB or safety in college and most likely wherever he ends up they will make that decision once he's there and then 'build' him into the position like they do with most kids. Looks like PLC has the pieces to build another good team once again.

Simple question who's stronger, the above (body weight 320#) or one of the below??? body weight 131.4 squat 435 bench 255 dead 420 body weight 198.4 squat 525 bench 335 dead 545 I've always questioned big strong?? or little strong?? 131.4 squat is 331.05% of body weight Bench is 194.06% of body weight Dead is 319.63% of body weight Total weight lifted is 1110 lbs or Avg lift is 281.56% of his body weight 198.4 Squat is 264.61% of body weight Bench is 168.85% of body weight Dead is 274.69% of body weight Total weight lifted is 1405 or Avg lift is 236.05% So, the answer to your question is that the bigger kid lifted 295 lbs more than the smaller kids in three lifts so he is obviously the stronger of the two. But, pound for pound, the smaller kid is stronger! Simple, huh! Now, if you take the smaller kids percentages and plug them into the bigger kids weight and run them out the bigger kid would have to lift the following amounts to be as strong as the smaller kid (pound for pound)! Bench 385 Squat 656.8 Dead 634.1 Both kids are unbelievably strong for sure for each of their sizes. But, if we are just talking who is the strongest, it boils down to who lifts the most......PERIOD and that would be the bigger kid. When you run a foot race, the fastest person wins whether it is a 20, 40, 100, or a full marathon and nobody cares whether they weigh 125 or 225!

Miles has.an excellent offseason. They need his speed. Ive heard Taylor Lee may be groomed for the next QB after Boerms gone..that remains to be seem, but he is one heck of an athlete. I still hear alot about another seadrift kid thats suposed to be making noise, i wanna say hes a Morales, but im not positive on that. Morales family has turned out some athletes in the past though. Cory Williams will do his speakin on the field. Marcus Klamm is gonna be Double teamed alot this season I think,so will see how good he really can be.

Clem had to go all in on his post and shame the rest of us into not replaying after he listed all that D1 talent.... Not what I intended to do at all. Just wanted to get a thread going to see who all the posters had 'pegged' on their teams this coming year to be their standouts. Hell, the best thing about it is watching kids come out of nowhere to be great players. Yes, we have an abundance of great talent for sure, but the great thing about hsfb is that a kid doesn't have to be a D1-talent guy to be a GREAT highschool football player! I was just messing with you Clem...what an impressive group of kids though! Should be fun to watch!

Buff, Can you send some of those very large boys down to LT for a fall student exchange program. LT will in turn send some soccer players to Steele. LT ain't got that kind of size brutha. Please share the wealth a little bit. It is truly amazing to think we'll have two safeties on the field this year that bigger than a lot of team's LBs are. They are both special players and were legit low 4.5 guys last year as juniors and dang sure shouldn't have lost a step this coming year. Hell, Huhn ran the anchor leg on the state qualifying 4X100 team! So true Buff! I just shows how stacked how the Knights are. Makes me wonder how crazy their stats will be come next season! Also, how did he do in state qualifiers?

Houston Northbrook
Offense: Sr. QB Jacob Salazar 6'2" 190lbs (Kid can scramble and has a cannon for an arm. Still needs some work but he can go anywhere from NAIA-D1/FCS)
Jr. QB Cody Levario 6'3" 180lbs (Traditional Pocket Passer QB, has good vision, and good arm. Anywhere from NAIA-D1/FCS)
Jr. WR Jacob Thompson 6'3" 205lbs (Very physical WR, and may play some OLB this upcoming season. This kid is a D2-D1/FBS prospect) Sr. RT Julian Rodriguez (Will most likely play Guard or Center at the next level, this kid can go anywhere from NAIA-D2)
Jr. RG Victor Perez 6'2" 295lbs(Strong kid, and moved to RG after playing RT last year as a sophomore. Should get more attention as a guard this season. Kid can go anywhere from NAIA-D2)
Defense: Sr. LB Carson Lopez 5'10" 225lbs (This kid is getting looked at by Mizzou, Fresno State, and Colorado. Also hearing USC is showing interest in him too. Mizzou wants him to move to Strong Safety at the next level and Fresno State, Colorado and USC want him to move to Fullback. If he gets some carries this upcoming season this kid is easily a 1,000 yard rusher. D1/FBS.)
Sr. CB Tyree Phillips 6'1" 195lbs (Was a 2nd Team All-District LB last year in 17-4A. Moving to CB will make him a desirable pick up for a D1 school. D1/FCS-D1/FBS)
Sr. CB Elijah Dupas 5'9" 175lbs (kid is a play maker, can play special teams, RB and DB. Kid is fast and isn't scared of contact, coming to defense after playing RB his soph. and Jr. seasons. D2 prospect)
Sr. FS Franky Quiroz 5'9" 175lbs (physical safety. NAIA-D2)
Sr. DE Gibert Castillo 6'0" 265lbs (NAIA-D2)
Jr. NT Hector Cruz 6'0" 300lbs (Causes trouble upfront and requires a lot of double teams. NAIA-D2)
Jr. DE Jesse Linqui 6'2" 265lbs (NAIA-D2)
Sr. OLB/DB Xavier Mendoza 5'8" 185lbs (Very Physical DB/OLB. NAIA/D3)

So true Buff! I just shows how stacked how the Knights are. Makes me wonder how crazy their stats will be come next season! Also, how did he do in state qualifiers? I am not sure how he did there as I didn't hear. But I know that he went to the Jr Day at UT this past Sunday and they Erik on the spot. I figured that would happen when anybody got a first hand look at his size and then saw him run a 40! LOL Couple that with the fact that Huhn loves nothing more then blowing guys up, and you've got an easy choice to make!

Last year Calhoun ran all over Northbrook but this years defense should hold the Calhoun Offense.
