Let us know how it goes JD and how they look! 10-4 Clem...this game is going to kill those football players who also play baseball as they will be helping coach from the sideline...

Yeah JD, I bet for the baseball/football players it is gonna really suck not to get to play.
But, gotta concetrate on the task at hand and FB has a very nice PO run going in bb. Good luck this week, hope you guys get it done and send the Trojans packing!

The only pic I took with my crappy iphone. Defense OCCNH....the first team D looked very solid...lots of hard hitting and more speed than last year. Varsity O went against varsity D. There were just shy of 200 kids suited up so there were 2nd and 3rd teams and extras in the mix as well. Our middle LB, Shaefer, is very fast and lays the wood. The defensive line disrupted a lot of plays. The scoring was from explosive plays...jet sweep to Tommy Martin...iso to Reggie Garza...fade route to Dilworth...big tough run by Charles. The stars of the JV offense were Russell Smith and Sammie Mitchell...both were running tough and making great blocks. The JV was QB'd by the freshman B team QB from last year while the varsity was QB'd by Josh Solarek, the soph QB from last year. There were 3 TD's in the last 3 minutes of the game with some perfectly executed 2 minute drills by the JV and Varsity offense. The last TD was a fade route by the JV to Smith who took it 60 yards for the score. With no time on the clock, Coach Reagan was chosen to atttempt the extra point for the win which was able to put just inside the left upright. You would have thought he won the super bowl...it was great. He ran to the middle of the field with his hand in the air and all 90 kids on his team met him there to mob him. The kids love him...hell he isn't that far from their age...24. It was a great end to a very enjoyable night of spring football.

Sounds like things went well and some 'new' kids stepped up and made some plays. It is aways exciting to see who is going to step up next and get with it! Our spring game is next Thursday and I can't wait to get a look at a bunch of the sophs and freshman. I heard a soph D-end that got quite a bit of PT this last year has put on 30-40 lbs of muscle to his 6'4" frame and is flat out tearing it up at practice. He will be a major D1 recruit in our 2014 class for sure. Also, the younger brother of our all-state MLB Ryan Simmons who's now at OSU is supposed to be coming on strong at the other DE spot. He will only be a Jr next year as well!

A whole lot more like the tough D we have always had in years before. Great to see. Line, LBs and secondary looked motivated and knew what they were doing. Someone or a lot of someones have been doing their homework. :-) Size, speed, numbers, it's all there for the coaching and yesterday showed signs that a lot of teaching has been going on.

I was impressed that our MLB was staying with Tommy when he broke that jet sweep...that isn't an easy task to accomplish. Tommy still has the cutback issues...if I were him, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of the field at all! Hit the corner and nobody can catch him.

Lots of teams wish they had the Qb depth the Bluff rats have! I hope we use it to protect Mims and keep him healthy for a deep playoff run. Calallen has some depth at that position as well with Scheible the front runner and McCurley and Lowrance backing him up.
