Don't forget about Martin and Sir Charles though...they will be sophs with a year of experience under their belts...Martin is faster than Mims and you saw what Charles could do last year. This could be a serious triple headed monster!

I hope your coach uses them more from different formations. You guys have an excellent QB to run the spread with. If he can connect on 8-10 passes a game. Real tough to stop. That Charles kid looks like a mini Jamal Anderson. Tree Trunks for legs.

I look for different sets, more passing with Flash and Crash to carry a lot of the RB load which will take a lot of heat off the QB who will indeed get a lot of opportunities because of it. FB will not be a one trick pony.

That Charles kid looks like a mini Jamal Anderson. Tree Trunks for legs. Charles has matured a lot and is even bigger ala Jamal. Tommy is still lightening fast, but hasn't put on much bulk. Running the spread with his and Kolton's speed should open up some good vertical lanes. We have two experienced receivers in Dilworth and Mendiola with Dilworth having the same type of speed as Mims and Martin and Mendiola being a smart route runner. Garza and Beauregard will also get a lot of carries and dump passes. Our all district TE's little brother, Dillion Gembol, will take over where his brother left off with a nice 6'3" frame to throw to. I'm hoping we throw about 15 times a game. The only games Mims really got to run last year was King and he threw the rock 20 times for over 250 yards. I'd like to see that game plan every game.

I don't know if I would call Dillon little, maybe younger brother is a better choice of words. :-) Really glad he is there to step up and fill this brothers shoes who had a great game at the Shriners all star game by the way with six or seven catches and a lot of great blocks.

That's great! I really wish I could have been there...and you are right about Dillion...bad choice of words. Both he and his brother are great young men!

The OG coaching staff figured out right away that he would catch the ball if you got it near him and they just kept coming back to him. Fun to watch and he was clearly having a blast.

I guess now since I'm not mad anymore I can comment on the fb wr from last year. Lots of quickness, had our cb s burnt lots of times.. But qb sometimes didn't have time or just threw it, well badly. If that problem gets fixed fb should rely on jet sweeps and keepers in 2012

If that problem gets fixed fb should rely on jet sweeps and keepers in 2012 That's what happens when you insist on playing a "WR" who can't run, catch or throw at QB instead of the season before JV QB who could do all three and lead his team to an undefeated season. Did I mention FB will not have the same OC?

Did I mention FB will not have the same OC? Really and truthfully sometimes when we fans question a coach or their actions, i think they have to know something we don't know, i mean their in that position for a reason. But sometimes in life, people make mistakes and coaches are human too..but ugh when its the team you root for its even worse when you knew it could be better if it was done another way.. i.e. Aj at qb for Alice... With 1 week to prepare, Alice almost beat big bad Weslaco with AJ at qb.. i could only imagine a full season under center with him. A new OC..hopefully with a philosophy that can take advantage of the FB talent pool

Jalen had 5 INT's in the games on Tuesday I was told and we held the opposition to 3 TD's collectively. We should see the benefits of playing him as a freshman this year. If we play the way we can, all 3 QB's should get lots of playing time this year in order to prevent injury to the #1 guy! I can't wait to see the other schools that come calling when Mims is healthy and can have a year worth of highlights to show them.

Dillion makes for a nice target in the corner of the end zone towering over those DB's...and Sir Charles is even bigger this year...
