But the GP kids are working the hardest of anyone out there. duhPico and Clem why are yall attacking someone and everyone who says anything positive about GP? King said nothing about Soph & Jrs, only non GP posters have said for years. Clem, where did King say GP is working harder than other teams? All he said is the boys are putting in the work to improve and weight lifting records are proving it. I have no problem with some folks not being fans of GP. But on cue multiple attacks every time someone says anything positive about GP just shows a lack character, Try Harder, your better than that. King absolutely loves to shoot his shots at every turn. It's not ok for us to do the same? He is a big boy and likes to post his cut posts all over threads so expect some return fire!

I grabbed a student guide my first trip to the gym. Certain doors are locked and if you don’t know which ones are unlocked you end up checking each door. It is my understanding that the new Sinton High School will be the same way. I was in the old HS building last night for teacher Eileen Troup retirement ceremony.

Coaches putting these GP boys through the grind now. Dragging tires and breaking regional lifting records. Gunna be a strong team. Show me in this post, what hurt your feelings? Bravado? You could say yes, but who doesn’t do that? No doubt King invites some return fire. But King just likes what he is seeing about the team. Nothing wrong with that statement.

Yes 37, believe me I know about the level of security systems in place now at our schools. Uvalde changed how school security has evolved since that totally senseless event happened. It’s not just schools, it’s many high security facilities now have added even more layers of security you cannot even see. I’m old enough to remember a gun rack in my truck at school with a 22 rifle & a 12 guage shotgun in my truck in the school parking lot and no one ever panicked at seeing it. No one ever got shot because we had a disagreement. Back in my day if two people wanted to fight, our principal and coaches would give us boxing gloves and then tell us to Get it On! Now a few punks and spineless “leaders” are too scared to do a damned thing. Everywhere I go especially in Deep South Texas, I’m packing a weapon, I’m too old to run and too hardheaded to let anyone walk over me.As they say, never mess with older folks, they will shoot ur azz and ask questions later.

When me and my wife make trips to the Houston area, I have the Judge in the console between our seats. The first two shots is the .45 Colt and the nexttwo are double O and if I show mercy I can spin it to the ,410 4 shot. It make a big hole when it hits.

Coaches putting these GP boys through the grind now. Dragging tires and breaking regional lifting records. Gunna be a strong team. Dragging tires? What happened to the running with a parachute? Dragging tires is cheap. Running With a parachute is more efficient. GP should be able to afford a parachute. Spent all the $$$ on raise for superintendent 😁

Suptd Michelle Cavazos is worth it. These HS do not list their administrators and lot of administrators are teachers getting ready to retire ad shop around for a higher paying Administrator job to average in on their retirement pay.

Y’all keep drinking the kool aid. I don’t have room for kool aid going with my Ensure Plus and apple juice and glass of cranberry juice. I prefer the Minute Maid brand apple juice. Let me add. I was at the middle school track meet at Cabiniss yesterday. GP has a 8th grader that may brake Coach Hayley Teels shot put record at GP; “Rhome was not built in a day”. It will take time to repair the damage that DR. Paul Clore did to education at GP.

When I drive by the high School in Portland, GP reminds me of a line in the the Lyrics in the song "Luckenbach, Texas".
We've been so busy keepin' up with the Jones Four car garage and we're still building on
That is quite a investment. I wonder how many folks in Portland, Texas wonder if it is worth it? I think it is time to tell the coaching staff at GP . if you don't contend for the Region championship this next year, every coach in the HS will be fired.

Why, because we're building state of the art facilities? GPHATER37, If you were the Super, we'd fire every coach every year. You're credibility on coaches is very, very low. You're the guy that wanted the O line coach fired after 1 game when a block was missed. If we dont go 10-0, lets fire everybody and start from scratch. Would that make you happy? When the new staff isnt a region champ within 3 years, we can fire them and start over again. Happy?

The new owners at Sherwin wanted to keep as much of their money in their pocket. They won in the court and GP ISD lost overnight a ton of tax revenue. As always the athletic dept took a huge hit and the GP schools had to operate on a shoe string budget. Now times have changed, the heavy industry in the area have been a blessing as far as tax revenue. For decades GP had to budget, hardly had enough just to keep the lights on. Hell no do I feel that GP should refrain from investing in our kids they had been denied for decades and now they will have the best facilities in the state. I do know that when the first design draft of the new indoor facility was presented to her and the board she asked one question. She asked if this first draft was the best in South Texas? They told her that only two schools had a better facility. Dr Cavasos told them to go back and make the improvements to make the facility the #1 indoor facility in South Texas. That is why Dr Cavasos is the best Supt GP has ever had.
