I saw 1080 for TM Calhoun was 999 what was interesting was seeing Flour bluff enrollment higher then CC VETS..... TM needs to lose about 210-500 more kids to drop to D2 or even 3A. FB moving back up would be good for them, bad for GP. But maybe ccisd would let all but Vets drop in with GP to save them from another valley district nightmare. FB, Vets, East, and West would be a good start to a good district. Depending on the direction from which the other 2 to 4 teams comes from, that could be a great south Texas district. If I’m reading these reports correctly, to get what might be a close to snap shot number we need to drop the 12 th grade number and then add the 8th grade number. Easier to do with single high school district. Just looking at the current 4As in the Coastal Bend, I don’t think much will change other than Alice might be borderline again depending where they adjust the cutoff if you go by the TEA numbers. Kingsville is losing enrollment big time. They might be 4A d2 for sure next time around.

Not so great at predicting the future. In districts with stable enrollments, 8th grade is almost always bigger than 12th grade, so that's not really a good indicator.

It appears that CCISD may have all schools in Division 2 (including Vets), Victoria (probably also), learving Flour Bluff the only Division 1 school left in this area. Could go forward to solving some of the UIL's problems with opt-ups. Both Victoria schools where showing above 1800 enrollment… Calhoun shows 999 but has to count about 150-200 kids from the alternative High School who are not allowed to play sports at least that is they way it used to be not sure if it’s still like that.

Looking at Miller, they are sitting at 1089. That would drop them down to 4A.

Looking at Miller, they are sitting at 1089. That would drop them down to 4A. That won’t be allowed.

I found that page earlier. Not sure how to navigate it. I put in a school name and it takes me to some nonsense.

Either one can find the feeder schools or multiply by 1.33 to get a reasonable number.

Sounds a lot like the districts from the past… with GP thrown in and Miller sometimes too. But but but that can’t be. This site has always called that very same district WEAK… along with the whole Region. So which is it?

No, but a very good district as long as the enrollment numbers fall within the classification.

This site has always called that very same district WEAK… along with the whole Region. So which is it? No we called the region weak because ccisd pushed out the region 4 competition. As for the district, as a 5A D1, they are weak. If you add in GP and possibly FB, now you have Vets, FB, GP, East, West, Miller, and possibly an up and coming Carroll that would test each other. That's 6 legitimate playoff teams and a 7th possibly, to make those teams a lot better prepared... Moody, King, and Ray are still going to suck and will be the cellar dwellars... compared to what D1 and D2 have looked like, that is a way better district. Vets and Miller had very few games in district that tested them. Same for GP and FB. Getting rid of that for those teams will only make them better. They'd then be facing the Liberty Hill's, LBJ's, AH's and such to get through the region. That's a way better playoff path too.
