Omaha might end up being the second SEC Tourney of the year. Which means if the NCAA sees that this is a possibility, look for them to tweak it enough to where some teams who should be national seeds end up not being seeded and having to travel for regionals and /or supers to UConn or some non traditional baseball conferences. Or the mid majors like ECU more often. Exactly Hell, if UT & blOwU were already in teh SEC just look: Texas A&M - SEC Oklahoma - SEC real soon Texas - SEC real soon Notre Dame - Who Cares Stanford - Who Cares Arkansas - SEC Auburn - SEC Ole Miss - SEC And if Tennessee hadn't have choked in the Regionals, wow! Could have been 7 of 8 teams SEC/Future SEC team. Crazy! The CWS commission would just pair up super regionals so SEC teams could cancel each other out.

Arizona State: 22 Southern California: 21 Oklahoma State: 20 Those three programs have not been nationality relevant in 20 plus years. Okie has had a few flashes here and there. Untill the PAC invest in facilities and coaches they will keep falling behind. There's good talent out west to bad those conferences don't make the the effort to keep the kids home. Indeed a lot of those Pac 12 teams and California mid majors like Fullerton have fallen off the map. The Mid Majors like Fullerton, Long Beach, and even Pepperdine were regulars in the tourney with Fullerton being a name at Omaha too. I wonder if many of those schools have cut schollie money in order to fund other sports?

Whoop!! Aggies send Rudy home 5-1. Absolute great game pitched by SA's Dettmer! Kid came in and owned the Irish. Damn good job by a&m all the way around yesterday. Tough task ahead to try and get 2 in a row from the hottest team in the country.

Amazing season for A&M. Last year only winning 9 SEC games and missing the conference tournament. This season they were picked to finish 13th in the SEC and to finish in the CWS final four in Schlossnagle's first season was truly unbelievable.

I thought Arky was going snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again like they did a few years back in the CWS. Came very close and Too bad it didn’t happen.

Yup Damn good season Clean up the defense some and shore up the pitching staff further and they could be hell to deal with. I like what this coach is doing and he knows how to use the portal!!!!! Ark pushing Ole Miss to another game just made the road to the title easier IMO for OK. SOB!

More so in baseball in my opinion. The unfortunate by product especially in baseball these past two years it basically messed up the JUCOs being used to fill these gaps and even mid majors are by passing them for portal and extra year(s) eligibility types. But D2 is getting some of this talent and it shows in these programs.

Seeing as how the portal is screwing with High school kids getting schollys does anyone else think HS Players that get drafted out of HS will be more likely to skip College baseball all together now?

Prolly so Hh! But I've always said if you have a kid that gets taken high enough to sign a pretty large deal, why the hell not? Hell, bank the money and give it 4-5 years to make the show and if it doesn't happen go to college and get your degree on the interest from the money you banked! No brainer really. Had a friend who's son was a standout HS pitcher and QB. Fastball in low 90s with a great changeup and curve to boot. He was drafted in a later round and the money being thrown out there didn't make sense to them being he had a full ride offer from a very expensive FBS here in TX so he went that route in lieu of signing out of HS. He got his degree in 4 years and also had a pretty bad injury to his throwing arm as a soph and never was the same again. So, he probably made the correct decision because that degree was probably about a $250k value at the time and the signing bonus would have likely been 1/2 that or maybe less.

Many of the high rounders that skip college have a nice insurance policy placed on them as part of their contract by the MLB club they signed with in case of a carrier ending injury that eventually leads to them not making the bucks. From the conversations I had with one local parent whose kid went to the bigs and made the big boy club, this is how it worked.
