It's going to be an internal hire. Aka, so the ex Cal guy isn’t coming home. If so that’s good for East. If this is indeed the choice, then it's great for East. Seamless transition.

I feel for East because trying to replace a coach this late is a challenge. I know..............this does not bode well for VISD moving forward. When the Prodigal son and Hometown hero (Reeves) returns home and you cannot hold on to him but for a year something is wrong in the way things are being done and supported. Frankly I am surprised the Victoria West coach has not left for higher ground.......he is a really good coach also. East got put in a district where they are likely not gonna be making playoff runs and might take some major blowout losses. Stay with me here I'm trying to say something positive on East's behalf lol. I'm saying maybe Reeve leaving had nothing to do with VISD being a problem and everything to do with Reeve not wanting the challenge of playing in that beast district. Convince yourself that's why he really left and it'll make you feel better about VISD.

Some hide them better than others as well....

Not sure if it was the main reason.

He said this position hasn't been open in 40 years and he was wasn't passing up the opportunity to do the things he wants to do and that's be the guy in charge. Our bond will pass which also allows him to help oversee the project as well. I honestly don't see him as the type of guy who backs down from challenges. Just my take on what he personality shared.

You don't see him as the type of guy that backs down from a challenge but that's literally what he did by leaving East.

Well that's your opinion. I'm certainly not going to assume that just because you would do that and run that he would also. He's given me no indication that he's that kind of coach. We'll agree to disagree. He has the opportunity to run Calallen athletics and be the boss and that's truly what many aspire to do.

He'll NEVER get credit in Calallen unless he tops Danaher and wins the state championship. Meanwhile in Victoria he had a chance to become a legend by turning that culture around. I don't get it. I promise this isn't a knock on him or Calallen I just really don't understand coaches like this. I'm an underdog guy. If I wasn't an idiot and had actually finished college and was in the coaching business you can bet it would be my dream to have taken over a program like Kingsville not Alice and turned it around. I say Kingsville because that's where I was born.

Wagner has had some success. Peiper is relatively new and had a good year last year, but let’s give it a year or two more before they are declared a team to fear. New Braunfels is Jeckyl and Hyde and Seguin is nothing to really get scared about. Champion has struggled and Mac Arthur is a has been. It’s much stronger than the CCISD district, but let’s tap the brakes about giving it a killer status.

Congrats! If he is anything like his mom and dad as far as disciplinarian and work ethic, East got them a strong one.
He was definitely raised right by Rick and Robin. I will be cheering for the Titans to do well.

Two things can be true;
Victoria East's new district is much tougher and probably didnt fire anyone up about trying to get a playoff spot but Calallen's a better job that Victoria East also
