And you are showing a lot of it with your name calling. It is comical that you can call everyone else out on this forum but you do it and it's not noticed......by yourself! I deleted my last post on here. Posting on here is not worth the hassle. No need for you to have deleted it. Hell, leave it on so everyone can see. I was just pointing out how you like to point out people's character all the while name calling yourself. You don't find that at all even a tiny bit ridiculous? Hell, this is a football forum and not a kumbaya revival. I think there should be good banter on here and a lot of back and forth. It would be pretty damn boring if we all pulled for the same team and had the same thoughts. Just do it without getting to out of hand and butthurt or personal. I for one enjoy your posts much of the time. Especially when you use paragraphs to break up the longer winded ones.

coaches get your package you send and it goes strait in the trash. You need to change your name to Brownwood stain. It becomes a test of character. I have several thank yous from Coach Randy Allen and one from Suptd. Dr. Michelle Cavazos. Coach Bill Parcells in his book “Finding A Way to Wim” calls it humility in his description of Coach Gordon Wood driving from Brownwood to Lubbock every day to watch his Raider players practice.. Do you have Jim Tressels book on character?

I just know old Pico will come over the bridge to attend a GP favorite. This evening there will be the 2024 Honk Parade that runs from Northshore CC to Ray Akins stadium. Maybe this years Honk Parade master of ceremonies will be GP37. He sure like to piss on GP55”s parade. Sorry I missed this invite. I will come over at the end of this season or the next for the torch and pitch fork parade. That's a five or six year event over in Portland.

Actually he had two books and I got the one recommended by Coach Mack Brown and I may have gave it away. .Seems like it was a composite of expierences of various players. I have quite a library. I just finished “Season of Life” by Jeffery Marx Every father raising a son should read it. I have another book on order from Amazon. Coach Jim Tressel was a great coach and met his down fall over covering for several players who traded their memorabilia for tattoos. He covered for the players because they had potential NFL draft prospects. Gosh a lot has happened since then . You have the NIL going on now. I am getting ready to get off a letter to Coach Sonny Dykes and send him the the recruit prospects in this area and one of them is QB Reed Dooms. Ironically you post after above story on Parcells. At the time that incident happened Coach Bill Parcells was assistant to Spike Dykes at Texas Tech. Sonny Dykes wife is the grand daughter of Wichita Falls Coach Joe Golding. He coached the Coyotes and he was my History teacher. Coach Gordon Wood coached for Stamford in a game with Ballinger and Coach Spike Dykes was a player in that game. The center for Balinger got injured and Spike Dykes was sent in to replace him. Stamford had a guy over him and I have his name somewhere and it was a bad day for Spike Dykes. I need to send Coach Sonny Dykes that story. I have another one to send on his wife grand father Coach Joe Golding. GP lost to Baytown in a bad officiating game by Bryan Texas chapter officials. It was supposed to be Valley Chapter and when Coach Akins checked the names of the officials they had the wrong officials. Coach Akins was told to play or forfeit . He played and GP had I think 165 yds in penaltys. Baytown was holding on about every play. I got to take a timeout

The 5A review barely said GP at all. Its rightfully so after what AH did to GP last year. They Have AH and Miller in the region finals this year. GP is young and has a lot of work to do this season to get any respect. 1 game at a time!

Chester’s going to earn his pay rebuilding the defense. It’s one of the pit falls of having very good athletes on offense, also playing defense, 6 positions. There’s some very good soph & Jrs coming up. At this time 3 sophomores are on varsity. GP defense will be good and get better each game.

Let King tamp down expectations and there will be less disappointment over results. Anything lees than a District Championship and Region playoff should be a disappointment and should result in a change at the top. GP school board has invested in the best athletics and should see a return on their dollars with better results than we have been getting. GP has the horses. If they don't have the coaching, change the coaching. No place for a coach at GP to be in their comfort zone,

Are they more talented than Miller? No. Will they possibly give Miller a great game? Yes. Firing coaches just to fire them is not the way to go. It just leads to chaos, and new systems for kids to learn. Truthfully Next season and the following are the years you should expect GP to be really good.

gpballer I remember a quote from Coach Eric Sosa years ago when he was a player. “No Slackers”. He meant players but in GP case it should apply also to coaches. I mention comfort zone. Nobody has been fired at GP since Coach Bruce Bush was shown the door. Sometimes you have to shake things up. GP has not been going in a positive direction since Coach Brent Davis came to GP. I am hearing some changes are being made that sound good to me. I make a lot of Middle School athletics. They have a lot of talent coming up in softball. One of them is my great grand daughter. I can’t wait until I see her bounce balls off the cars in the parking lot at Cabiniss. She is not the only one on her team that can knock them over the fence. Coach Brent Davis is the AD. GP has some pole vaulters due to West coaching. I think GP should be doing better in all the sports not just Football. Take a look at those Tennis Courts. Money does not buy winning. Good coaching makes winners. The AD should cull out his weakest links. My thoughts should stir things up. ‘Just the facts mam, just the facts”. Sargent Joe Friday.

Football is on its way to its 4 consecutive trip to the playoffs. They have won district or come in second the last 3 years. Boys Basketball went 2 or 3 rounds deep, girls basketball were bi-district champs. You had multiple regional and state finalist in track. This program is moving in the right direction. None of these were happening Pre Davis. He wasn’t even who I wanted for the job, but he has done a good job

37, if I buy a dozen eggs and find one is cracked, would I throw out the whole dozen? No, you replace that one bad egg. In Davis hiring he told everyone that in his program it would take rebuilding from the bottom up. The middle school coaches got reassigned and some replaced and he hired a retired HC to come in and coordinate all middle school coaching in all sports. He did a hell of a good job . He retired this off season and hired the varsity O line coach from Rockport to continue improving the level of coaching and the improving the performance levels at the middle school teams. You yourself has stated how good those middle school athletes are that are now entering high school. Those first group of 7th graders in Davis”s first year are incoming sophomore’s. 3 of those sophomores are on varsity and by district play more will be moved up. Can you not see the improved level of play? Every A team won district 7th thru JV and many of those JV from last season are filling varsity positions. I’m not going to say GP has all the best coaches but I did see Davis is hiring quality coaches such as Charlie Wright when a vacancy opens up. We will continue to see good talent coming up the pipeline for years to come because of Davis”s program.
