Wow, so disagreeing with your constant negativity about GP football is undermining your great granddaughter who plays softball? Thats a real reach, even for you! Your goal is to silence anyone who disagrees with you. Your goal of sticking with the status quo that is not working will undermine her future as she also plays basketball and throws the shot and discus in track. I think you might back track and read Warcat82’s critique of GP coaching. I suspect Portland tax payers may expect a little better return on their investment in athletics at GP. I’m just not sure why I waste my time posting on this blog. Your great granddaughter can come to Calallen. The girls won district in track and have state qualifiers this week. Plus I've heard that Calallen is pretty good in softball also.

She is 6ft. tall and in her first game of a double header the other night she hit a in stadium home run with 2 RBI,s and the second game knocked one over the center field fence with bases loaded. She plays catcher and has a rocket right arm and sometimes picks off two or three players leading off third base. She can compete in track running the relay. She gives 100%. GP has a catcher that is a senior on varsity and they play in this same stadium while their new one is being built. She may make the varsity as a freshman. The main draw at Calallen is education. They are tops in this area. Superintendent Michelle Cavazos has GP on the rise.

She played QB and receiver in flag football several years and very accurate passer. Great personality and socializes great with other players. She has quite a record and best yet to come if she is not home coming queen , she will be in the court. GP has another shot put and discus girl that will break Hayley Teels record at GP. Coach Hayly Teel will be her coach.

1967 College Station. State Cahampionship game Brownwood vs Bridge City. Brownwood coaches had been told that one man could not take down Steve Worster. 6 Ft.tall and 210 lbs and clocking 10.5 in the 100 yd dash. Two time all state and had rushed for 1,293 yds and had scored 22 touchdowns. On the first play from scrimmage, Worster took the handoff from Redbird Quarterback Joe Langston and started arond right end. As Worster turned to cut up field, Lions cornerback Roy Spence who did not weighmore than 155 lbs , came flying in to tackle Worster. Spence delivered a blow blow right at the knees, and the impact could be heard all across the playing field. To make a long story short, Worster in 24 carries gained only 87 yds. Brownwood 14 Bridge City 0. Roy Spence now lives in Austin Texas and has a Speaking motivation business of sorts and did have a Royitas Salsa businees but shut it down a few years ago. You can coach size and speed. Copied from google Reverend Roy. He’s known for co-founding GSD&M in 1971 with partners Judy Trabulsi, Steve Gurasich and Tim McClure, but he’s perhaps best known for his electric and passionate personality. So, it was with joy and pride, yet little surprise, when we learned our fearless leader would be the first Austinite and second Texan to be inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s 67th Annual Advertising Hall of Fame. His accomplishments include bringing on renowned brands like Southwest Airlines, Walmart, AT&T and Charles Schwab to the GSD&M roster, authoring three books, co-founding The Purpose Institute to help companies find their core purpose and values, and even starting his own hot sauce line, Royito’s. But it is Roy’s heart, as President Bill Clinton noted at the induction ceremony, that’s led him to success in advertising, leadership and all aspects of life. We couldn’t be more proud of you, Reverend Roy. Ride At Dawn! This ties in with the post above about Jimmy's and Joes and coaching size.

RIP VITO DURAN voice of the Wildcats Oh no! I always liked Vito! I worked in Portland for 5 years and he always came in to see me and give me a hard time (playfully) about being a Calallen Wildcat. Always enjoyed our chats. Prayers for his family.

Ryder only being a Soph has a ton of more opportunities before him. Ryder trains at Vault barn in Woodsboro and Coached by Kevin Hall. Colton had to miss competing for a spot at state due to an injury so he became Ryders asst coach. The vault barn has had multiple state champions and just this week one of Kevin’s vaulters now at Kansas won the Big 12 vault championship with a vault of 17-8”. Ryder will win state championship in 5A before he graduates.
