Javelina Stadium down in Kingsville is 15k capacity. For some reason they got out of the playoff business. That would add 30 mins for SV travelers and delete the same for the RGV fans. Javelina stadium had sasfety issues with some of the seating years ago. That is when they no longer accepted High School games there. Did they ever repair the seatinng? They repaired the seating albeit didn't totally replace the grand stand. They still use it for the Javelina games and it's the main stand everyone sits.

Yeah no one is playing in Kingsville until they do some upgrades Wow how bad must it be for it to not get any playoff games? Not good at all. Thanks for the heads up.

I recall an incident, I think it happened back in 2013? Edcouch Elsa were playing a 2nd round playoff game there on a Friday. I had heard SOMETHING happened, but I never heard any specifics. I just remember the following day, Port Isabel played Orange Grove and a large section of the stands were blocked off.

They replaced that section with all new aluminum there after. I think one to the issues now is locker room space. They don't use the visitors lockeroom anymore under the home stands and send the visiting teams for Javelina games across the way to the SPEC where basketball is played. I wonder if the lack of available locker room space is one reason they can't host right now because basketball season is fully underway?

Seguin’s stadium was old also, which is why they had to renovate. The visitors grandstands were large, at 5,000 seats, which stretched from endzone to endzone. But despite being aluminum, the stand frames were rusty, while the bleachers felt old and creaky and ready to give out at any moment. They were uncomfortably wobbly. Theirs was a sound investment. It’s a shame the new visitors grandstands are only about half as large. We ran out of space in the Guadalupe River Bowl.

Unless your name is Tarleton State, the A&M system is spending jack squat on their system schools now, especially sports venues. West Texas A&M got theirs in with a lot of help locally in Amarillo/Canyon, but A&M did facilitate getting their new stadium done quickly.
