I believe a shootout favors LH with their ability to control the clock.
This game could go sideways for either team real quick with a turnover, defensive stop, or inopportune penalty. That’s more or less what happened between these two last year. I think FB had three turnovers. It could have easily been LH with the turnovers and the outcome would have been reversed.
Good luck to both teams. I think luck will have a role in the outcome. There will be a lot of Ooohhs and Aaahhs for the watchers of this game with a few Aaahhh sh!t and WTF thrown in for good measure.

Great matchup! If there was a year to beat LH this would be it. However that team seems to love high scoring games. Just when you think they’ll get beat they win. Anyway I hope the Bluff can take this one their kids/coaches have done a great job!

This one will be a slobber knocker! Both teams are well coached and the players are overachievers! Should be one heck of a battle!
I'll go with The Hornets having the ball last and scoring to take the final lead!

calpreps.com today still slightly favors Liberty Hill 44-42 over Flour Bluff I think Calpreps has been sniffing glue this year. They've been wrong on several occasions. Bluff will win in a shootout 51-47.

This year is a different story. Flour Bluff can quick strike in one or two plays. Not to mention Special Teams play with Kickoff or Punt Return for long yardage or TD. The game will come down to mistakes. Penalties, turnovers, and/or lack of execution.

Don’t overlook Liberty Hill. Their first four games were against teams that made it to the playoffs. They were 2-2 in those games. They have gotten better as the season has gone on. They are winners and they know how to win close games. As well, they can run the ball and eat the clock. Don’t know who will win, but don’t underestimate them like GP did Alamo Heights. The football can bounce funny ways , kids make mistakes, and sometimes things just go wrong. Hope both teams play an outstanding game. Best wishes to the team that comes out on top.

LH was minus some key starters early in the season. I expect a shootout. I think the FB defense is better than LH. It's going to come down to the team that makes the fewest mistakes.

Sorry Bluff fans, I have to pull for my good friend coach Kilby in this one and the LH Panthers. Good luck to both teams.
It will for sure be a shoot out!

Yup They are certainly a good football team again no doubt. The only one who has shut them down has been Pieper. That said, LH's defense is not nearly as good as it has been the past few years. And for the record, I don't believe GP overlooked 11-0 AH. AH was the better team and would beat them again if they played.

I'm certainly pulling for FB here and hope and pray that the officials call the game correctly and enforce the 1 second set rule when LH is on offense! They get away with false starts in every game IMO. FB will win this game if the run D steps up for them!!

No doubt the FB coaches have been earning their teachers pay in the classroom and the practice facilities. The D has to ignore the football slight of hand eye candy and stay on their assigned place and person any one of which can end up dealt the ball.

LH wins if two things occur on offense and one thing on defense. They get a successful push of the line of scrimmage and they execute the play fakes as this offense is designed to do. The run up the line thing is a bunch of BS. We didnt do it when my son played here and we still made it to the semi's. But we had a good O line who drove defenders, and a decent Qb who executed the offensive fakes. That quick snap thing only works at first then its nothing. In fact, I thing it is the cause of more LH turnover then anything else, but what do i know.
Of course the LH achillies heal is their inability to defend a pass. Could do it way back when, and still cant do it now. if they can put some pressure on the QB so he doesn't get comfortable throwing darts all over the field, then they have a chance, otherwise its good night Irene for LH.
Dont know much about FB, sounds like they are stout. Be nice to see LH go to next round, but they gonna have to earn it.
