Will the rain and wind be a problem on Thursday night? Should any spread teams be concerned?

Abilene will have 80% rain all day and night Thursday. We have great turf and it drains very well. However, if any side is affected, it would be the defenses trying to react to the offense.

Central Texas Austin/San Antonio calling for rain followed by a cold front with cooler and windy conditions by the evening. Does that tip the scales as an advantage for anyone?

It's looking like it's going to be nasty Thursday and Friday. A lot of teams will need to adjust, hopefully they have smart coaching staffs!

Looks like down this way in the Coastal Bend, the heavy rain and thunder will done by noon time. Thank goodness because some of these delays go on way too long, IMO. But it still looks like it will be wet and cool. And like clockwork too. I think every Friday last playoff season, the weather was wet to downright cold for all four of our games.

That strong cold front came in about an hour before kickoff and temps were in the low 40's with wind driven rain for the balance of the first half .

Being that CC Vets has not run the ball well at all against playoff teams this season… Southwest has a better chance if they are decent against the run.
When facing the better teams in the schedule, Vets was probably 80% pass or more.

Sounds like Thursday games need to be pushed back to Friday even it means playing in more dreadful weather without the threat of Thunderstorms . Lol! The lightning rules are needed of course, I just think automatically resetting the time to restart to 30 mins after the last strike is silly. Especially if you can look at a reliable radar and the thunderstorm is exiting the radius . Why should a lightning strike right on the edge of the radius delay a game much longer ? Discretion can be used .

Can't push back too many games. Limited numbers of officials.

Looks like mid 60s with a 14mph north wind and 60% chance of rain tonight for kickoff in Schertz for Steele/Brandeis. May not see a 300+ yard air show tonight by the stud Jr QB and the receiving core but instead get a chance to watch the big sophomore RB run all over his former team Brandeis. If you haven't seen this kid yet pay attention. Man has he come on strong the 2nd half of the regular season. Wears the same # as another big RB we had that was our best so far and he really, really looks like that RB at this age
