I dont have much faith in the Cal offense right now. I think the defense will keep them in it if they struggle though

Friday @ Calallen I can see this going two different ways 1). A close game with the winner determined very late . 2) Calallen blows the door open and proves all the doomsayers silent including myslef I know the Hidalgo game last week is probably a horrible game to make this comparison. But I believe teams can make adjustments that bare fruit even against horrible teams and I saw that Friday. If you were paying attention we actually made this change FINALLY in the second half of the TM game two weeks before . This was making the change at center and QB that made a laughing stock out the offense for four weeks after the Cuero game. To me the kids looked a much more in sync vs the fumbling and bumbling we witnessed. We shall see if this theory comes true against a salty Beeville team which appears to have its own identity crisis late and at the wrong time judging by the loses in their last two games. If I recall correctly the starting center got injured in that game. It's mind boggling to me as to why the coaches didn't pull him sooner. 🤷

And yes we are not bashing the kid, but it had to mess with his head and it absolutely had an effect on the momentum on both sides of the ball. The kid is big and strong and I’m certain he could’ve been slotted at another position on either side of the ball.

The center is is the glue on the O-line, and you have to be smart to play any position on the O-line. I'm sure he's a good athlete, but yeah, move him to guard/tackle, defense. Idk why the coaching staff rode with him for so long. It was obvious early on that he wasn't getting the job done. Not blaming the kid, but the blame falls squarely on the coaches.

I’m sure someone like Warcat82 can chime in on the coaching aspects. I know there is sweet spot where you don’t want to pull a kid too early. At the same time you don’t want the kid to falter to the point he can’t get the job done and it becomes almost exclusively mentally vs a physical deficit and it effects the play of the whole team . But the definition of insanity came into play and the consequences resulted in a loss followed by a game that was heading that way the following week. The fact is the Zapata and Kingsville games shouldn’t have been as close as they were and that’s when the change should’ve been made. We shall see if the change transpires into wins now where it really counts. Some of the things I’ve heard its transpired into new enthusiasm in practice. Keeps them guessing which Calallen shows up.

That’s a wrap. Congrats Beeville and Coach Soza on the win, great job! Cats will have better days ahead, better talent coming up the pipeline. In my opinion we just didn’t have enough dudes on this squad.

Tough to watch this year, better days ahead. Definitely got better days ahead. I knew coming into this season that it would be bad, but also knew what we have the opportunity to be in a couple years.

Campbell needs to make some changes with the offensive coaches. It’s been apparent all season. Case in point we score to put us within two after lining up and going for on forth down in the “T” and get it and the very next play the same kid beaks it lose for a along score. Not once did he touch the ball when we got that turnover and missed the FG. Should’ve lined up in the “T” and marched it for the short 25 yards and got what might have been the go ahead TD. And not once did he touch it the last drive. Just stupid offensive coaching not to give your best runner the ball at critical times. Congrats to Beeville for taking it to us.! Go get Davenport.

I was stunned at how inept the Calallen defense was against an offense Campbell used to stomp. 🤷🏼♂️

Maybe you guys just didn’t have the players this year. Always attacking the coaching staff or refs. You guys had home advantage and refs weren’t calling crap 2nd half when they started playing dirty.
