Who is 'Walt' that hit the portal? I don't know of anyone on the roster with the last name Walt

I don't get to worked up over the transfer Portal. I read there around 1500 NCAA football players testing the transfer waters.
With coaches moving on it's not surprising to see players looking out for offers.

But as a player you better know your worth and value. Because going into the portal is like quitting a job and not having a new one lined up.
The top talent will always have a place to play, but if your a third string DB at a power five school you might just end up at an FCS or DII school.

I dislike how they do the transfer portal currently. To me these kids should just chill and it should be opened after spring semester.
Here me out on this...
That allows these kids all up in there feels to go through spring ball again. Show more of their skills, and earn a better spot on the roster. It also gives them more film to add from college if the do choose the portal route.
Now they start in the summer workouts like the high school kids, and the playing field is level. Now teams get their kids for bowl games, and they get a chance to prove themselves.
The portal is just legalized cheating. The coaches see a kid that's good on another team and poach him. One season later he's on their team with no issues. I don't blame the kids for for their wishy washy lack of commitment. The coaches and the powers that be are responsible for the mess.

I agree with you on waiting to open the transfer portal until May. Current system is better than the old sit out a year system, but still flawed with all of the bowl game opt outs.

Exactly, I don't think sitting out a year is the right thing to do, and I never agreed with that. I think the moving it to May would curb a lot of what we are seeing. I also think if these kids that declare for the draft sit out for a bowl game, they shouldn't get invited to pro days, all star games, or any other such activity. Because you know "they might get hurt" so since you quit on your team you can take your chances in the draft as is. Hell why not just sit out your entire final season if that's the case. Just in case, wrap your candy @$$ in bubble wrap and sit in a padded room and wait for the draft. So you don't jeopardize your future. Unless you have paralysis or a freak accident like Bo Jackson or Alex Smith, odds are the injury is not going to end your career. The odds of being a 1st round pick are astronomical only 32 spots available. So you're better off playing for your team and improving your odds.

Portal should be closed until the national championship is over.
Coaches, booster, NIL conglomerates and players should not be allowed to talk to the other during the season.
There was already players confirming their transfer location before the portal was even open during the conference champions weekend. Maybe even before that.
I'm all for players having options but you can't let the inmates run the asylum.

I guess I need to look more into that lol... I have 10-14 or 15 which ever is the last year they made it. That had RG3 on it

I’d go a step further with their scholarships for that particular semester or academic year leading up to their decision. The scholarship needs to be presented to them as a contract with terms that say they must fulfill their commitment to the team until the season ends with the last regular game or playoff/bowl. If they chose to opt out, the scholarship then reverts to a loan and will be treated as such for repayment purposes. These kids can’t have it both ways with NIL in play and not understanding they are now in a business environment. This whole thing was a can of worms that should’ve been opened slowly, but the last decade or two, we’ve allowed the students on college campuses to run rough shot and not educate them on the consequences of their actions. I’ll just stop there before I get too political.

I have 10-14 or 15 which ever is the last year they made it. That had RG3 on it When you create a new dynasty season you can move teams around the existing conferences. So I moved all the SWC teams into the Big10. This is for NCAA10 PS3. This version sadly does not let you create new teams. So no UTSA or Texas State.

Especially when you see some of these deals where they make more in NIL than some of these rookie contracts... treat them accordingly and teach them lessons that go with the new found business side of things. "With great power comes great responsibility." As the quote goes. They want to be able to move schools like they do, ok well fulfill your agreement and play out the full season including bowl games or pay back the scholarship money in full for breaking your contract.
