As for the freshman B/JV B comment I said that was what they looked like last year, and vs Moody this year. Last year they lost to a valley team that they should have destroyed that literally looked like a JV team all season. Moody would lose to most JV teams badly. I want them to look even better vs King, so that they can look back and see progression and also, so that if they score 40-60 vs them, they can say they are getting closer to a much better program they play in district. But if they win 35-0, it’s not? Your numbers are so absurdly arbitrary and further proof that all you see is black/white. You have it out for TM for some reason. Most of the kids are out there busting their butts off, have you ever considered supportive comments instead of throwing around insults like “you look like a freshmen B team”. Just a thought. If they beat the atrocity that is King football 35-0, that would be a step backwards from Moody and Ray. So yes that would be a bad sign. King is worse than Moody. Watching them, their body language is of defeat before they even get on the field. It reminds me of the TM body language in year one of this HC, and the body language of the Williams disaster. I'm not one to sugar coat things. So I won't apologize for my comparisons. I have no doubts they do bust their butts daily, they wouldn't have beat the bad teams they are playing if they weren't. I said before that it's good they are beating these crappy ccisd teams. That's the level of opponents they need at this stage so they learn how to win. As for my assessment for their level of play, let's be real, do those kids start on Varsity at a Beeville, PLC, Sinton, Calallen, Alice, Miller, FB, GP, or Vets? If you can honestly say the 22 starters at TM can go to those schools and start, then I'll say they are Varsity quality. They'd easily start and improve King, Ray, Moody, West Oso, Robstown, Kingsville, and other subpar crappy teams, so those are not the question. It's ok for them to not be Varsity quality at this point. They are learning to win, and they are improving ever so slightly. They were worse than this 2 years ago, and have been worse than that under other coaches. I will say this coach is better than Williams by leaps and bounds. I'd go as far as to say he's better than Sandajar too. If Boone and Miller had this easy district and schedule, they may have had better records. I do agree with Chino though that they (Boone and Miller) are also to blame for not getting TM to a higher level. None of the coaches they have hired since Crawford have done much to change the culture, strength, or image of TM. The new Supt. Seems driven to change all of that. They deserve that! I can only imagine what Davis could have fixed at TM had they hired him instead of Williams. The kids deserve the best. Heck the ccisd kids deserve better than they've been given.

I didn't make 5 thousand excuses for Miller. As I said in another comment, I'd rather them lose and have better character, than win and be dirty. I don't like that this staff allows that crap. Just like you had issues with Atwood and your Coyotes. The Coyotes deserved better, and they got a good one now. TM deserves better too. The kids deserve better. The kids definitely deserve better alumnus/fan support. I agree, and don't get me wrong, I love TM. I have 2 daughters that are TM grads. My 2 youngest go to a school that has a Warrior mascot up here because I am a Warrior at heart. I will cheer for TM all the time, unless I am on the other sideline, or they're playing my kids. I have in my will to give money to TM when I am gone.

Looking forward to the varsity game between Carroll and TM, and seeing if TM can start 3-0 for the first time since 2009.

natureboy, I want you to know that I have enjoyed the debating with you. I also appreciate that it stayed classy as we went back and forth. If you have a kid on the team, I wish him the best! I think if we watched a game together, it'd be a fun experience. @chino, you and I have argued in the past, and you have been better this year. What you do for the kids of South Texas with your podcasts and all is great. You have passion and I know you'd be fun to watch a game with. Saltydog, you are someone I think would also be fun to watch a game with. I also appreciate your input on here.

Agreed. I got TM by about 35. I agree, but I hope we're wrong and they score 50-60. If King gets past the 50 yard line I'll be surprised. King's kids have no desire to even be on the field once a team scores on them based on their body language. TM has a real shot at holding King to negative total yards. King also likes to give the ball up, so TM could find themselves with a short field a lot as well. That back for TM should have plenty of room outside to run all night as well. I'm not sure King has anyone close to his speed.

I've got to give King the benefit of the doubt in that they've gotta show some sort of improvement... it's week 3 already. I'm supportive of what TM is building over there. They've definitely started something, and I like it. That's why I try to show my support for them. I get a feel you're more of a tough love kind of guy, and that's perfectly fine too. Either way, I think we are both hoping for the best for that program!

Either way, I think we are both hoping for the best for that program! Yes I do want the best for TM. Yes I am tough love with stuff like this. As for King, I saw regression in week 2 instead of improvement. Which could be a bigger problem for that school. If the coaches have given up and allowed regression like they had in week 2, they might as well call it quits and move on to a different job. The kids need a staff that gets them prepared and keeps their heads up even if they are getting beat. If the TM DC keeps up the good work, I'd hope that the Supt. would give him a chance to be HC there and see what else he can change in the process. If he doesn't get that chance, keep him on and clean house with the rest of the current staff, and bring in a big name that will elevate them to the next level like they deserve. Leave Baseball alone, they are doing well in building a top tier program. Get the basketball program back to one of the top teams like they used to be. Keep the girls programs rolling. Get soccer elevated to that next level. Get Track and powerlifting back to what it once was as well. I want TM to be the next big thing where kids want to move back into the community and that people up here know about like they do Calallen. That's 10 years or more away in reality with the right staff, but it's achievable.

T-M will be 6-0 going into the game against Alice and that T-M stadium should be crazy that night.

LaFeria has improved over last year as well. That one could be a close game. Especially with TM having to travel down there. The valley refs are Homers, and the travel down sucks too. After Alice and Calallen, the only other tough game they'll have is Zapata that beat them last year, and has also improved.
