Dead Floresville vs Pleasanton, They did play this past season but it was the first time in at least a decade. I don't think the current players understand how heated the rivalry was from the 90s to around 2005. Kerrville vs Fredericksburg. Another great rivalry lost to growth. They still play but not in district games, so maybe it's more of a back burner rival. Man that Pleasanton v Floresville rivalry was WILD!!! I loved watching that game when I had to scout one of those two teams... the 2001 game had some very heated moments in it... Floresville folklore has it that in the 1996 game, Pleasanton was the District favorite all year while Floresville was not even on the playoff radar. The Tigers go on to upset the Eagles in a nail better of a game and go undefeated in the district that season. After the win over Pleasanton, the Eagle players were so sick, upset, and apparently in shock they lost they all hurled all over the visitor's locker room. That's the report I got from a few Tigers players and a Custodian.

The admin that let us in the visitor locker room told us that Pleasanton was so mad that they lost that year that they trashed the locker room and that cops had to get involved. Apparently, they had not only TP'd the locker room with dirty TP, they ripped stuff off the walls, some how they had spray paint and graffitied the room as well. Some of which was kkk markings. You could tell that new paint was in there. I know Pleasanton played dirty against us. They trashed our locker room as well, but not nearly that bad. I'm curious if what we were told is actually true or not. I mean with the penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct in that game, I can see that happening, but how do coaches allow that amount of damage and that type of disrespect to occur...

I recall something like what you described. Never heard about the police getting involved or the racist painting. The visitors' locker room was the old gym locker room used for PE classes. It was not the biggest place. I was out of HS by 2001 so cannot confirm if it was vandalized, but I would not doubt it. There was also a few other instances during a game week where Pleasanton had used green paint to vandalize our stadium bleachers, field, and home locker room outer walls. Its why we called it the Blood Bowl for several years.
