So just for fun, could y'all imagine if 6A districts split their schools into multiple high schools of no more than 2000 kids per school! And any 5A's bigger than 2000 split in half. Man the districts would be crazy! No opt ups allowed, your number is your number. Schools like Allen and Katy would have a district all to themselves almost. I think they'd be able to create more competition and better districts that way. Some true neighborhood rivalries. 4A and under wouldn't be too affected but 6A and 5A would be Hecka Stacked... all schools of 2000 would be 6A, 1400-1999 5A, 1000-1399 4A, 400-999 3A, 200-399 2A, and 1-199 1A. Katy already has a district all by themselves.

Breaking all those schools up into no more than 2000 kids... imagine the possibilities for playoffs and just the potential for more strong districts all around.

I am so confused right now Corsicana has been pretty down since making the semis in 2011... 2012 TH 4-7-0 284-398 Phil Castles 2013 2-7-0 280-398 Stephen Hoffman 2014 3-7-0 184-312 Stephen Hoffman 2015 6-4-0 314-256 Stephen Hoffman 2016 CO 6-5-0 206-317 Stephen Hoffman 2017 R- 6-5-0 313-315 Stephen Hoffman 2018 C- 9-3-0 409-277 Stephen Hoffman 2019 TH 7-4-0 287-233 Hal Wasson 2020 4-6-0 205-285 Hal Wasson 2021 6-4-0 258-311 Hal Wasson 2022 1-9-0 218-420 Aric Sardinea Hang around here a little more and I'm sure you will get at least one answer from wf/37/sybill that will work. May even involve peanut butter. And by the way, Hoffman is a good coach and an even better man. They should have found a way to keep him there at Corsicana. Buda Johnson is doing well under his leadership

I appreciate your tweets of all that. thanks

Too bad it will never happen. And for reference CY-FAIR ISD has 14? schools now. I think. I'm not a fan of more than 4 schools in an ISD. I think it stretches the funding out way too far when spread throughout too many schools.

I'm also an alum. As I try to write this, I'm going to try and be clean as possible. Yes, we have been down since that magical 2011 run to the semifinals. The 2018 season was special too. We won the district outright. First time since 2004. I thought we were heading in the right direction but Hoffman to the Buda Johnson job. he's doing great there too. I'm confused too. I don't know the direction we are going. Maybe if we had better screening of the coaches we are hiring. Can't fix it until that change. we had former players who applied for the job and didn't it. Some did not get a interview. I just don't understand. Maybe the talent is not what it used to be. And we had players who transfer as well. Last year was the worst season I ever witnessed. It was so hard to watch that I stopped going after 4 games. Will it be better this year? Hate to say it but I doubt it.

Sometimes the talent on the field is lacking, but to have that kind of drop off typically points to coaching. Coaches have to prepare the kids to perform, and give them game plans with the best chance of success. Doesn't seem to be happening there with this coach. It's unfortunate too.

SOC has a chance tomorrow to 3 peat. Not many programs have done that. Lets see if they can take another step toward that dynasty talk.

Well, I honestly do not see it that way? What point spreads have you seen and by who. Calpreps has SOC as 86% favorite and picked by 16 points I just pulled this one up: CALPREPS.COM Your source for high school football scores, standings & rankings PROJECT A MATCHUP neutral field [2023] South Oak Cliff (Dallas, TX) 35 (86%), [2023] Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX) 19 (14%)

I think Stepp said it was 50/50 and then people more from the PNG area that covers sports picking them.

I think SOC could be considered a dynasty despite the loss. What kind seasons did they have before the two state championships? We have to consider those also.
