South Oak Cliff has won back to back state titles! How much more do they need to accomplish before they should be considered a dynasty?

I think they are not a dynasty until they dominate everyone like Allen, Aledo, Guyer, Ryan, Katy, and SLC have done in their dynasty runs. They lost games this season they shouldn't have early on. Their story this year coming back from 0-2 or 0-3 is phenomenal, and they earned that title. They are a great program, but they are not dynasty level talk yet.

I agree, I dont think they are there yet but they could be the next one. Probably have to win another title or two in the next 3 or 4 seasons. Make deep playoff runs and win their region more seasons than not.

They lost to... 6A Duncanville - 6A D1 State Champ
6A DeSoto - 6A D2 State Champ
5A D1 Lancaster - Ranked in top 10 of 5A D1 all year
Who out of those 3 should they not have lost to? lol

On the above question, I wouldn't call them a dynasty per say.
They're on a phenomenal run right now. I just view a dynasty more than a two year stretch personally. That said, I fully expect them to be competing for another title in 5A D2 next season, and easily could reach that dynasty stage with another title in the next year or two.

Lancaster should not have been a loss. The other 2 teams for a "dynasty" team, they should win. Watching those games, they did not have the athletes to keep up in week 1 and 2 especially.

They will definitely not be sneaking up on anybody from here on out. At least as long as that HC stays there. They have to be looked at as the team to beat in 5A2.

Let's see if they can hold suit a few more years
I don't even think they need to win another title but just make deep runs year in and year out for 8-10 years or so. Of course another title or two will lock them in if they do it.

So if consistency is the measure, would Calallen be a dynasty? 30+ years of deep playoff runs, consistent 10 win seasons, appearances in the state title... my personal opinion is no, but I pose this just to get discussion going...

Beating up on weak Miller. Moody, TM and others for stats does not make you a Dynasty. When you equal Refugio you might start thinking Dynasty. You can count on one hand the number of teams in Coastal Bend that have won at least one state title and Calallen is not one of them. You have the Golden Triangle that produces the most NFL players and U of Houston about to join the Big 12. I don’t know if GT has had a Dynasty but Corsicana has been pretty strong and they are close to the GT.

Houndhound, I know where Corsicana is and it could be considered outlier of Waco. My point is that it is closer to GT than it is to Odessa or Corpus Christi. GT is in Region 4.
