Calallen beating Boerne then Tyler Chapel Hill or Kilgore is doable. Making it to state and beating China Spring or Anna isn't happening. Nothing wrong with 15-1. When is the last time Calallen went 15-1? Never? Did you go 15-1 any of those mid 90s years when you kept losing to La Marque? I think 14 is the most we have won in a season. I'm not sure but I think the two trips we had to the finals, we had a loss in the regular season

A few 14-1s were in there though. I don’t know much about Anna but yes China Spring looks to be a VERY complete team this year. Everyone is beatable.

LOL! And the Final to Hebron 14-2 2016 Loss to San Antonio Johnson and Aledo.

JK that QB that transferred from Wimberley to CS.

I don’t know why everyone thinks Cal will be the underdogs in this game? Cal is ranked #2 and Boerne #3 and finally we can put this to rest, Defense wins championships.cal can win this game IF the knock Boerne off of their routine game plan, pass, pass run a couple times. Cal must get pressure on the Boerne QB or he will pick the Cal defense apart. If Cal can disrupt the Boerne passing game they do have a good chance to win this game. Comparing FB or to GP games is a waste of time since every team in the playoffs have improved and the intensity level is higher. Yes you can glean some things on individual players. Campbell knows exactly what Cal needs to do but it’s easier said then done. Boerne has a very good O line that protects that QB. I’m pulling for Cal to get it done. First post here, Navasota grad that laid down roots in Boerne, and first kid of 4 is at BHS now. I’ve been watching Boerne football the last few years, you are correct that they have a great O-Line and passing game, but the running game gets overlooked. Boerne has several good running backs, currently led by 18 TJ Dement. The line and receivers are all in on the blocking schemes and the backs hit the holes hard. They’ve run into a few good run defenses and usually get them to back off with the passing game. Cal should be the best defensive front 7 they’ve faced all year. Defensively Boerne gets good penetration up front every play and the secondary and linebackers fly to the ball and hit hard. These boys are looking forward to this game. Beating Calallen is the way out of the Region every year and they’ve earned the respect. I remember wanting a Navasota vs Calallen matchup when I was younger. We will be there Friday hoping for a Hound victory. Welcome to the forum and great first post. You and WAC will likely become the best of friends and maybe even go to dinner and drinks in the near future.

Oh yeah that's right, I can't judge because... we have only seen Calallen's best once and they're due again.

Boerne probably has a little bit of size advantage but I don’t think there’s a big speed advantage one way or the other. I see Boerne going to the pass early and often, the running lanes probably will not be there as much as Boerne is used to seeing. They can chunk the ball very well and score in a hurry though. I don’t know that anyone has really stopped them on offense. Cal needs to limit penalties and hang on to the rock. I don’t know how Cal will attack Boerne’s defense because we’ve seen different looks in all 3 playoff games from the offense. I believe Cal will rely on defense, poke and prod that Greyhound D till they find something. Cal kids need to bring it on Friday night!

First post here in a long time. I love reading the bickering among South Texas fans though, it's good fun. I haven't seen a Calallen game in person in years now after moving, but did get the chance to watch a few online. Haven't seen any Boerne games, but looking at scores and common opponents it does figure to be a great game. I know one thing, and that's that coach Campbell will have his guys prepared, specifically on defense, and it's going to be up to them to execute. My wife and I have been debating making the drive down to SA to watch this one. Go cats go!

All I know is that I hope Calallen wins state this season... happy Calllen fans? Don't be because I'm about to clarify lol...
I've been saying for years that Campbell is the real reason for Calallens success the past 4 decades and if he wins it all it'll just validate what is already reality even if he doesn't win state.
