So if Cal beats Boerne no matter how ugly the win is would they look like the #2 team? Hard to tell since Boerne had trouble with Flour Bluff. What ifs aside you haven't looked like a #2 in the playoffs and your biggest win is Alice. I'd say our biggest win was Cuero. Our most crucial win during the season was Alice. The way they played against Cuero was how I'd hoped to see in the playoffs. They haven't. And im not putting down the game against Alice but they played near perfect in every aspect in the cuero game. I feel they will need the same effort against Boerne or they very well may lose.

You use this same rhetoric every year. At this point, a team is what it is. I can tell how desperate you are for me to validate Alice by saying Calallen played their best game against them but it simply isn’t true. I believe that Alice played their best game that night though but I know you don’t want to hear that. If “you are what you are” by playoff time, then Alice is clearly inferior to Calhoun and the better team always wins. There is potential and then there is realized potential. Realized potential is a level which has been achieved and that happened with Calallen against Cuero in week 4 and I’ve been waiting for it to be achieved again ever since. I know you disagree but you have a right to your opinion just like I do. I could care less what you validate lol. When a team has a game circled and they under perform, that says a lot about the character of that team. As for Alice's loss to PLC, I never made any excuses. Alice was who they were and got beat by a better team. This is high school football with 10 regular season games, then one and done come playoffs. Can't wait around to 'find their potential'. Good luck to the Cats next week.

I’m sorry but Davenport had a better squad than Alice. The biggest win so far was the last win. Lmao no they didn't. They lost to the same Canyon Lake team that 3-7 Calhoun handled and I don't care who calls it excuses the facts are Alice doesn't lose and the game wouldn't even have been close to Calhoun if not for that weather and/or a coach being so loyal to the transfer that he refused to put in rhe backup running QB.

Bottom line is sotex isn't lying and he obviously isn't a Calallen hater as even I use to accuse him of being a Calallen apologist. We're 14 games in and you're still acting like Calallen is so much better than they've shown all season and we just haven't seen it yet. ITS WEEK 14. Stop with the excuses. Cuero needed overtime to beat a 3-7 Salado team in round 1 so maybe the reality is none of us are as good as we thought if Cuero is your measuring stick.

This is an excuse Chino, listen to yourself. Most all of S. Texas teams had to play in bad weather 2 weeks in a row. The ones still playing figured it out. Your facts are not factual because it did not happen. I’m not dissing Alice because they had a talented squad but it is what it is.

I have no issue with Sotex picking against Cal it is what it is. Measuring sticks are very difficult this year, part of it was a super weak schedule. ALOT of area teams have been up and down with their play this year. FB just roasted a team that took LH to the brink. That same LH team that just beat Alamo Heights, and AH had a heck of a squad. It’s all over the place this year.

I have seen it so I know what they are capable of. That is the difference in potential and realized potential. And where you’re getting off track is not in our week 4 opponent but our week 4 performance. It could have been against anyone. That was the best Calallen has played this year so far. It’s about a known capability. And I really don’t think you want to get into any Cuero comparison scores. It could reveal some very telling things that wouldn’t be very flattering. Teams have bad games. If circling a game on the schedule guaranteed a good performance, I’d circle every game.

Yes both teams played in the same windy rain... BUT only 1 of the teams is pass heavy and had that entire aspect of their talent taken away by the weather.

Yes it counts but I'm just saying it's not the norm. FB was the better team for sure and I was rooting for them but I'm just saying if they play 10 times FB wouldn't blow them out like that 10 times and SA Vets might even sneak in a couple of wins.

It wasn't the dominant performance that the final score makes it look like. They turned the ball over twice in side the 5 yard line when they were about to score.

I’ve said it 50 times. It’s the INTENSITY level I’m talking about. Nothing about any score, other team, or even a win or loss. INTENSITY! The rest will take care of itself. And just to be clear, you try to make it sound like Cuero fumbled snaps or something. Those were turnovers forced by a high intensity defense. It seems to offend some of you that some of us know what our team is capable of and that we want to see it again.

One of those games they had circled. What do you think the odds are Calallen gets this so called intensity level back?

If that's what you're claiming then oh well you need to accept that maybe they are the team from the other 12 games and not that 1 game. I don't think that's the case but going by your own words that's what it is and you can't have it both ways.
