Technically it started last week with the Cornhuskers looking like the relic they are against Northwestern in Dublin where the card transaction terminals went off line and they had gave away free Guinness Beer. What a deal! In the US, we'd get the cheap Miller Lite or Bud Lite garbage!
I'm going to make my final four playoff slot predictions next week. I really haven't had time to look at the whole picture and will this weekend.
But for Texas schools here I go
A&M and Texas both finish 9-3 Texas announces in November the deal is reached for them to join SEC play next fall
Baylor wins the Big 12 , but not easily
U of H (Cougar High) does finish 12-0, but misses the final cut to a media darling from the Big 10 or ACC
UTSA follows up with a good season and finishes 10-2 and nearly stuns the U of H on Saturday
Texas State underperforms (nothing new) and fires their coach
UTEP and UNT 7-5 and bowl bound
SMU turns some heads 10-2 --- may get a major bowl invite
TCU misses Gary Patterson 5-7 and waits for Sonny Dykes to work his magic like he did across the Metroplex at SMU-- transitional year
Tech 6-6 and finds some defense. Beats Okie State or Baylor
TAMUK is kind of back 7-4
Sammy Houston makes a good run in the FCS and plays for another title but comes up short against NDSU AGAIN....
Mary Hardin Baylor wins D3 Again! Dynasty!
UIW continues to make strides...

I'll give the horns 7 wins if can get by the Jayhawks. But any more than 7 is just looking through burnt orange colored glasses.

You hatered and aggy maroon blinders do the same for you. And speaking of aggy I was being charitable to you all because it’s fricking easy for you to win at least four. Miami is extremely overrated so you will get that one on top of the other three easy non conference games . You will probably pick up a W against South Carolina and maybe Arky so that gives you six. Ole Miss, MSU, and Auburn are draws as of right now, but I’ll give you slight favorites on those three. So there is your nine and again all bolstered by four non conference wins.

Appalachian State and Miami would both challenge for a top 3 spot in the weak Big12 this year, and SFA is a top-quality FCS team. You can stop trying to be petty about quality nonconference schedules. The Horns past nonconference opponents are comical.
A&M with nine wins is their high end for this season but 10 wins could be achieved. I think it's more like 8 for the Ags as I can see them slipping up with Ole'miss and maybe LSU.

Show me the exact equivalents to U Mass and PVAM on the past few years schedules. And the UIWs and Tarletons like they are on your future schedules. Go ahead. Btw you don’t even know your own schedule. Aggy is playing Sam Houston tomorrow, not SFA which is NOT a top quality FCS team. Sammy is , but still FCS. Like I said, go look at UTs past schedule going back 10:years and point out the FCS cupcakes and do yours and come back in the morning. Laughable!

Well, my bad Sam Houston.
There is not much need for SEC teams to schedule multiple top quality opponents as their conference season is the toughest in the nation.

It's looking like Coach Kelly can't handle the pressure down in the bayou. It's gonna be a long season if he does not get a few wins to quiet down the local media and the fans in Baton Rouge. Welcome to the big leagues, Coach Rudy.

Has Colorado got that bad or is TCU that improved? They spanked CU like a rented mule.

Read where ticket prices for the nosebleed sections for the Bama/Texas game are selling from the High Hundreds to thousand plus per seat. College football is out of my price range for sure.

I wouldn't pay that much to be fried up in those seats this time of year and holy crap it will be hot and humid in Austin on Saturday. Another thing I won't miss about the Big 12 is the fact they want their feature game of the week on Fox to be the 11 AM starts. At least the SEC insist on the 2:30 for several of their games and then leaves it to CBS and ESPN to fight over who gets the CBS game which is their featured game. As for the game itself, I am not expecting Texas to pull off any sort of earth shaking upset. Two TD dog seems reasonable to me.

My review from last week
A&M, Baylor, and UT did what they needed to do with first game opponents from the non power 5. Although A&M probably could have worked on more, but that rain delay makes these type of games where you just go back out there and get the clock to expire quickly and go home.
The UTSA/ U of H game already has to be a contender for game of the year. Two teams that were fighting to the end and if the administrators of both schools were not paying attention, it's a shame on them. Get both of them to schedule each other annually and make this a rivalry game. A Houston vs San Antonio thing!
Texas State sucks again
Tech looked good playing an FCS for once. A couple of years ago they nearly lost SFA and Houston Baptist. So that's a change.
TCU played and beat a horrible Colorado team, so it was tough to really get a feel on where they are at. Game was close until mid to late 3rd qtr none the less.
I might have been a tad optimistic on UTEP and UNT and their record... But we will see.
SMU did what they had to do against the above mentioned UNT. Not a shock.
TAMUK did beat a JV team from a start up school in Houston 60-0. They play one slightly better in Sul Ross this week.
UIW laid the wood on Southern Illinois which are no slouches.
Out of State----
LSU. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!

Now, I always root for in state teams in college football. But I don't think this will end well for the Longhorns today.
