Did they? You're an idiot. BS, NO QUIT IN THE TEAM, D FOUGHT THEIR ASS OFF, THEY WERE ON THE FIELD MOST OF THE 2ND HALF, Impressed with the GP defense. They fought hard and seemed like they were on the field the whole time the first 3 quarters when the offense didn't do anything. Great effort by those kids. THe kids on both sides played extremely hard I thought

Calallens QB really surprised me on some throws. He throws very well on the run. And that long run he was a heck of a football play. Straight up! Kid throws a pretty damn nice ball. And I was impressed with the passing game as a whole. It looked 100X better than the few passes I saw them attempt last year in the games I watched. lol

Nothing intangible about a QB who accounted for about 40 TDs last year breaking a leg in the 1st quarter. Guess that was part of the scouting report? Just because a kid accounted for 40 tds last year doesn’t necessarily translate to what he’d do this year. We had a RB run for about 350 yards against GP last year. That kid played again tonight and didn’t account for much. You never know. I didn’t see much change at all when the backup came in. Harrison, the backup, worked all summer on his receiving and blocking skills. He went to camps all over the state. He's a better athlete and runner but definitely not a better passer. Our passing game really suffered. There was a big drop-off for GP in that resspect.

BS on the bolded. There were several on here that predicted a Calallen win, myself included. I stand corrected. You did say that. I apologize. Your statement said 'could win'. You do realize there is a HUGE difference between could and would, right? lmao I and some other non partisans on this board did pick GP to win....THAT DOESN'T MEAN that we thought Cal couldn't win! lmao

Not sure what to make of the game. Both offenses looked bad but maybe it was just that the defenses were great. I think G-P has a great defense and if their offense had given them something to work with they might have held Calallen to a single score at most. They also had a couple of turnovers when they were about to score including the Calallen D breaking the ankle of the G-P QB. Reminded me of when Calallen intentionally broke our linebackers ankle back in 96 I think it was. It was the season after our LB hit the chit out of Wes Danaher (clean hard hit) that concussed him and knocked him out of that game. So Calallen came back that next season and intentionally broke that LB's ankle. I just watched the replay on a 50" crystal clear monitor at work and you ARE 1,000,000% WRONG about this. That was as clean of a play as you will find. Grow up and just admit you were completely wrong about this, and about your prediction and give congrats where it is due.

GP has its QB until Redden returns and it’s Colton Harrison. He needs to step up his game but he proved quite a bit tonite. I think once he settles into the roles as the starting QB he should be fine. I have absolutely no idea why Dooms was playing on JV and left him unavailable for tonites game. The coaches might need to tailor the playbook a bit to Colton’s strengthes but He should be fine once he takes hold of the new role he has on the offense. Dooms is the #2 QB not Colton from what I hear. Now Dooms is #1. Anyone actually hear what was Reddens diagnosis? I spoke to a guy who was in touch with Brandon's family. Surgery scheduled last night. Both bones in his lower leg were broken.

Nice result for the maroon cats. I was wrong… with an asterisk. I think 3 more quarters of Redden changes that 12. Nonetheless, Calallen did what it was supposed to do. Keep playing and get the W. Maybe - but he was 3 of 9 for 19 yards and a pick. GP had less than 40 yards of offense at that point. Just admit you were wrong. I'm sticking with our D coached by Steve Campbell. I 100% agree with this! Anyone who doesn't either didn't watch the damn game or knows very, very little about football............PERIOD. The backup did a damn good job IMO and GP had multiple opportunities in the 1st qtr alone with great field position inside Calallen territory and DID NOTHING WITH IT. Credit the Calallen defense for stepping up big time.

It was sloppy as heck, but considering clown Cochino and people like CCWarcat had us losing and big, it was a win to take and run with it . It reminded me of some of those first games against Mercedes a few years back where we played horrible for the first half and managed to pull out a win. Like in 2016 when we were tied 7-7 at half and only put on the final score late. Clown Cochino will never give us credit. Clown Cochino was proven VERY WRONG tonight and tucked tail and now is slandering our program for intentionally breaking the GP QBs ankle. You're the one doing the slandering because no where does my comment say you intentionally broke the GP's players ankle. I said you intentionally broke our LBs ankle back in 96. Try harder son. WRONG! You said "it reminded you of when Calallen intentionally did it way back when" and you know EXACTLY what you meant so stop with your BS already. Stop crawfishing and own up to your BS post

I posted the site to watch the GP Cal game and anyone can watch it. What if GP had 4 less turnovers. It is not unusual for a Danaher coached team to come out slow or make mistakes and then make corrections and have a very good season. We shall see how the new coach responds.

Injuries happen. I'm very sad for the young man and his lost senior year of football. God has something different in mind for him. May that direction be ten times as fruitful as his hopes were for his senior season.
I will pick a new team as my "2022 Best of Coastal Bend" soon. Redden was the #1 reason for my GP pick (1a is Batts). GP will still compete well, I'm sure. BUT, I will have to name a new team to represent the CB the furthest in the playoffs this season. In my mind, GP drops from a Round 5 team to a Round 2 or 3 team. There will still be a CB team in Round 4+.

If you can find the 2016 Mercedes vs Calallen opener down in the RGV, it was a similar out come and performance. It got corrected by game three and the train to a great and historic season got on track That game probably had the best Ref crew I’ve seen call a game and they were from the RGV chapter. No home cooking . Calallen is basically playing with a brand new line. If the pass game is going to indeed be a bigger part of the game plan, the line is having to incorporate something they are not used to doing and have never made part of regular routine ever. A learning curve is there

Post the video big guy showing our player playing dirty. Post it Genius. Without a doubt it was ABSOLUTELY CLEAN and just a bad deal all the way around. You have to have warped mind if you think the vast majority of kids are looking to severely and life changing hurt someone on the field of play. Sure there can be some of the extra circular stuff that some of us actually endured or witnessed such as the kick in the nuts or stepping on a hand and other stuff in a pile. But any intentional hurting of a player to incapacitate him on the field of play is not a regular occurrence or tolerated in 99.8% of your programs. I got a little emotional in my response last night and stooped to a level that was not acceptable and for this I apologize.

lmao so now I'm insinuating it? What are the lotto numbers for tomorrow? You definitely did imply that the hit was dirty. Let’s keep this simple: Do you think the hit last night was dirty? We couldn't see that much detail from where we were sitting. That's why I said he broke his ankle the way Dak did because people watching on tv described it that way. Nobody said anything about anything being intentional other than when it happened to Alice back in the late 90's.
