We're on the brink of August which means we're about 4 weeks away from the start of the 2022 season. Biggest game of week 1 has to be GP at Calallen. It's said to be televised. Who do you have coming out on top and why?

I'm a fan of both teams. I like what G-P is building and the potential they are showing. Calallen is still going to be what they have been. I can't see a real reason to believe that will change. So, Until G-P actually beats them I'll have to roll with Calallen. I won't be shocked if that happens this year.

I'm taking the underdog... who I consider to be GP. Reasons: "Calallen starts slow" GP has some very good skill players returning GP has some great play designs and players that can execute them GP's defense should be able to have a better showing than the 600 or 700 yards they gave up to Calallen last season
This will be a close one in either direction. I won't be surprised at all if Calallen wins it. But I'll take GP, 35-28.

I don't know Calallen to start slow but I definitely know GP has in previous seasons.

I don't know what to expect? It's a new era in Calallen for sure, but in many ways it doesn't feel like one.

How much does Calallen return on their offense from last season? GP will have a better offense than last year, no doubt.

This one is one I am definitely intrigued by. I want Calallen to win it to start Campbell off right and to ease the natives minds. Although on the poll I voted GP because I feel like they have more momentum going into this season. I feel like it's going to be a low scoring contest with a lot of great defense both ways. I think it's going to come down to which kicker is more consistent. A missed extra point or two or a last second field goal will be the difference. 14-13, 17-13, 17-15 type game. I wouldn't be surprised if it went into OT either. One thing is for certain though, Wildcats will win this one 🤣🤣🤣🤣....

It has been 40 years of Danaher on the sidelines. I believe the Calallen coaches are anxious to prove themselves along with the kids. I look for a fast start. GP better be ready since they one have one scrimmage to iron out the kinks for this game.

A lot to replace on the O line but from other posts they will bring more size this year. D line has experience and secondary bringing back some kids from what I understand. My big questions are linebacker and O line. They bring back the QB and all RB’s from last year. I would expect they could be deep at that position considering kids coming up as well.

I’m taking Cal cause I’m a homer lol. I think they bring back enough to do what they do. This game really could go either way because GP had a solid team once they figured it out and they’ve got some dang good players coming back. Should be a great game.

It's been a strong off-season for Calallen and the boys have worked hard. There is a lot of enthusiasm and excitement to ensure Steve has a great season in his first year as head coach. FYI - Kyle Chandler (Coach Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights) was in Calallen today and a few of the boys got to meet him. He's going to be watching this game live streamed. The boys that met him today got a "Clear Eyes Full Hearts Can't Lose" outta him! It was so great!

I don't know what to expect? It's a new era in Calallen for sure, but in many ways it doesn't feel like one. Its not a new era in Calallen. Its the same coaches as the previous 43 years. Sprinkle in some young blood. Callalen will be Calallen! If anything they will be better with a more open offensive scheame. Nothing is new except for a defensive view of an offensive scheame. Dont sandbag or act like Calallen had a whole new coaching staff come in. This is a good thing. South Texas football has beem dubbed weak and not worthy as of lately. Im not making a prediction. gP has alot of hes to fill from new faces and kids hurt. But the fact that yall are giving GP a chance is good for GP or you could be setting GP up for ridicule.

I’m not sure how good the GP Oline will be, but if it’s any good GP wins this game.
