I’m out here watching these Carroll boys again. Gotta say, these guys look good in practice. We’ll see how it translates to the season, but I gotta call these boys good! 👀 My eyes have seen good and they’ve seen bad. These 48 year old eyes don’t lie. Some teams are going to be mighty surprised if they’re expecting last year’s team to show up. Offensively this team might be good to go, i thought the offense was def ahead of the defense. I think there is some validity in your post because the QB and receivers can def pitch and catch. I think they might be in the mix this year and def building a foundation for the future. Team had a lot of good energy and so did the fans.

Well by golly Nostradamus strikes again. Can't go anywhere but up from a 0-10 season duh. The only good football those 48 year old eyes have seen is through rose colored glasses with blinders on the side. Carroll will be 4-6 at best so yeah that is better than last year. 4-6 isn’t bad for this team, and a realist probability. But there’s an upside potential beyond that. And you’re nuts if you think Vets hasn’t been good. Show where I said Vets hasn't been good. They aren't and never have been elite or anywhere close the way you think they have been. So Caroll say goes 4-6. Against who? King? Ray? Economedes and maybe a surprise win over EE, Moody or one of the Victoria teams? You call that good? Gtfo with that nonsense.

No where close to it.

I think they did beat a team or two last year that they weren't supposed to, so I never count them out.

It was 38 I think, maybe as many as 42. But the freshman team has like 50-60 kids. I’m thinking there may possibly be some kids moved up. And yes of course, time will tell. Gotta translate those successes in practice onto the field on Friday nights. But it’s way better to have successful practices than to look terrible at practice. There’s something there to move onto those Friday night fields.

Yeah I think they will be better next year and the year after. The problem is they're in CCISD, and don't look now, but London ISD is drawing a lot of kids. Look for them to be king of the hill on the Southside within the next few years.

It’ll be something else to get a 3rd CCISD school making playoff runs. And it’ll be a HUGE TRIP for me to see Carroll beat Vets. I’m thinking competing on that level is 2-3 years away. For now, it’s working to get sharp for TM. Then it’s 100% focus on beating EE in that first week… at their house.

Getting Carroll on that level does not mean either of those schools will fall off. Success is not mutually exclusive. Each school earns its own way.

But with Vets and now Carroll around… I don’t see kids wanting to go play at London unless they actually live there, or they are having issues competing against their classmates for positions. Basically, I predict London players from outside of their school boundary (if they even have open enrollment) are most likely 2nd or 3rd string Vets or Carroll guys. The Vets and Carroll facilities are amazing. And if you’re good enough to start at a big 5A school, I don’t see you wanting to go play at a smaller school.

A) with Carroll pulling students from Vets, Vet's won't be as dominant and Carroll will be better, but NEITHER team will ever be elite with Brenda Marshall there. B) London is an ISD and they are on fire as far as growth. In 5 years they will have a program that will put CCISD to shame, much like Flour Bluff and Calallen already has. In case you didn't notice, London won the State championship in Baseball. Listen to me now and believe me later.

Vets made their success with that number and that number ain’t changing. Also CCISD has had 4 Regional Championship appearances (3 by Vets, 1 by Miller), and 1 R4 championship under Marshall. Has that ever happened before for CCISD? No. Plus she was recently nationally recognized for her work in her field. And if a 3rd CCISD school starts doing the same??? Maybe y’all should rethink your whole stance on her. Right now you’re quite literally on the wrong side of history.
