I wouldn’t be surprised to see Carroll have a decent season. I get they replace an entire O line but coming from an 0-10 season that’s probably a good thing. I’m hoping they do well this year. If they can get at least 3 wins I'd say good. 4 or more would be excellent. 3-46 the past 6 seasons is not going to be an easy hole to dig out of no matter who the coach is. The schedule is favorable for this... even in non-district.

He is 0-0 at Carroll. he has nothing to dig out of. Just needs to get off to a good start.

The reason you have the situation today is because so much of the CCISD has been void of long term football success, the number of people engaged in nuts and bolts like some of us on here and elsewhere is minimal at best. So current leadership throws out the reason they are keeping our schools together is (fill in the blank), most of the voting or engaged population says OK and accepts it as good policy. I'd be willing to bet even most of the CCISD school board has no clue about the ramifications of the decisions made by the Super and AD on this for not only their local schools, but the collateral damage it brought. I almost wish Miller would face a Katy Paetow situation the next two years and I almost mean exactly the same situation because that COULD be the smelling salt they need to see the error with this. At least you have a few loud voices over there who could make it an issue on Social media for one and maybe, just maybe someone in our local or even state media put the CCISD leadership the hot seat going forward. Yup They've simply become used to mediocracy in their programs at best and do not expect anymore than that and simply don't pay any real attention to what is going on! Really a shame The thing they (CCISD) don’t get (picodegallo, Clemensbuff, et. all) is that it is an investment and must be treated as such! They are taking the lazy way out in opting up everyone rather than invest in getting their smaller schools to be competitive within 5a D2. Getting them competitive means more excitement around local programs which brings in more revenue with game attendance. That added revenue will be more than enough to cover any additional costs incurred with their single school (CCVets) having to travel!

I wonder what the average attendance per game and season is for Carroll, Moody, Ray and King since Vet's opened. Bet it's way less than Miller and Vet's. Lots of money lost because they (CCISD) don't give a chit about those programs.

They’re paid well if he’s correct. It’s on them to be better… same as it is on the kids of those programs. It can’t be more simple than that.

I asked about attendance at the games. You Know Butts in seats? Quit trying to change the subject. I know the coaches are paid well. they have to because they know they won't give them nothing to work with while making it easy for Vet's. Coaches know this going in. They are told by fellow coaches. They know Vet's will be the focus of CCISD.

Like they always have since Vets opened. The Coaches Know the only team to get everything pointed in their favor is Vets. Like Opting everyone else up so Vets has an easy Path. Just like I have always said, it just happened again this realignment.

I counted 38 varsity players in uniform at the Calallen scrimmage.
There may have been another 4 or so guys… couldn’t get a really accurate count because JV and freshman were intermingled (even without uniforms, it was still hard to count, varsity jerseys had no numbers).
There aren’t huge numbers on the 2022 Carroll team. I counted about 4-5 dudes going both always with the 1’s.
By comparison, my son’s 2019 Vets team had 41 seniors, and 70ish total varsity players.
That said, this Carroll team can scrap. There are some very good athletes on this team. QB1 stands confident and strong, and throws very well. The wr’s can get open and they catch well. Right now, even though they provided good pass protection, the O-Line as a whole lacks the size needed to create a power running game. Maybe scheme can help open up some running lanes, along with the passing game. Depth can be problematic too because iron man football is tough against the better teams in the area.
Overall, I’m very excited about this team. I predict the 2022 Carroll Tigers team will be remembered for setting the foundation for the future. This team ain’t no doormat. Several local teams should be on notice.

Yet is still good to opt Carroll up to D1 because there's not much difference. 🤔 My bet is it's about the same for Ray,King Moody and Miller.

I’m out here watching these Carroll boys again. Gotta say, these guys look good in practice.
We’ll see how it translates to the season, but I gotta call these boys good! 👀
My eyes have seen good and they’ve seen bad. These 48 year old eyes don’t lie. Some teams are going to be mighty surprised if they’re expecting last year’s team to show up.

The only good football those 48 year old eyes have seen is through rose colored glasses with blinders on the side. Carroll will be 4-6 at best so yeah that is better than last year.

And you’re nuts if you think Vets hasn’t been good.
