Aggies and tu are both on pace for top 10 recruiting classes this year. Now the other Texas programs you can complain about loosing their appeal as top programs. Tech, TCU have dropped substantially. SMU, Baylor and UTSA have been improving year after year. Houston has been pretty stable.
The problem with college football as a whole is there are only 4-5 teams with national title hopes each year. Alabama,Ohio St, Clemson, Georgia, maybe OU and Oregon. So if I'm a top 100 rated player those are my only choices till they tell me no thanks. This is why the playoff should be 12 or 16 teams to create more parity and spread around the talent.

I see 2 SEC teams in Flowtown's statement above you quoted yet that is where you take it. Should they be pimping the big12 more in your opinion? Why the hell wouldn't the SEC get the most attention? Show me another conference that is as tough.

You are the one who popped off about them overhyping the SEC, not me.

You are the one who popped off about them overhyping the SEC, not me. You have a habit of taking a prove your innocent type positions. Pass. Instead how about you prove to anyones honest opinion who pays attention that the SEC ISN'T over hyped by ESPN (who just happens to be financially invested in the SEC).

ESPN owns or is invested in the SEC Network along with several big conferences like the ACC, and Longhorn/Big 12 networks. So it's not one-sided like you believe. ESPN also has broadcast deals with the Big 10 and PAC 12 so it's in ESPN's best financial interest that they are successful.

The bottom line is there is no conference in line with the SEC in college football when it comes to being the best and any college football fan knows this. Their record both in regular season and in bowl games against other conferences says so as does the # of teams with FBS NCs and also the number of teams with titles in the conference. Hell, take out Alabama and the SEC still owns more national titles than any other conference by 2 and has 4 other teams besides AL with titles which is also 2 more than any other conference can claim. The SEC stands alone at the top and those that don't want to admit are blinded. It's easy to see when you are not wearing burnt orange blinders. Can't wait for UT and OU to join league play!

Well would you decline a deal like that? Look its pretty simple. Have your conference of choice go win some national titles and ESPN and the rest won't ride the SEC's nuts.

CBS was stupid for dropping the SEC. It was the only thing keeping people watching there network.
Longhorn fans need to look in the mirror and admit their network destroyed the big 12 and set all those schools back 10 years. Talk about greedy, instead of growing the conference Texas played scrooge and kept their nickels instead of investing in a conference network for all the programs. Why do you think A&M, Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri left. The same reason the PAC killed the big 12s offer to merge causes Texas wanted to keep their network and have a high payout than the other schools.
Now OU and Texas are running to big pockets SEC cause they burned though their trust funds and need a bailout.

So, this happens in 2024, 3 years from now but yet you and other TU fans continually cry about how the SEC is the media darlings already and only that hype is what makes them the premier football conference. I'll ask you again, show me another conference that is even close. Take away Alabama since that is what most folks with your viewpoint want to use as the only reason the SEC is the best. The bottom line is you can take Alabama out and THEY STILL WIN against all other conferences. It is actually a bit comical that you would call a foul after what the Longhorn Network did to the big 12!

I'm about 99.9% sure the playoff four goes like this
Georgia Alabama Big 10 champ Norte Dame
Cincinnati probably gets shorted even if they are undefeated, but I think they lose to Houston.

Only way Alabama is in is if they beat Georgia in the SEC Championship. A two loss Alabama will not be in the 4 team playoffs.
